| Alone on Christmas? Posted: 12/24/2006 10:21:33 PM | It can be quite a trying time when one is alone during xmas.
I'm at least thankful that I have pets with me to take away from that loneliness. It's just the aspect of having someone else around that can make it easier and it doesn't even have to be another human being. Just someone that you've bonded with on some level is enough during those hard times, and pets certainly fits the bill.
I'm glad I live in a filthy pig-pen excuse of an abode and I have several dust bunnies to keep me company...

| Alone on Christmas? Posted: 12/24/2006 10:25:28 PM | In 1968, I moved to B.C. and spent a year rambling around the Chilliwack and Rosedale area, the following spring I was transferred to Edmonton. I spent my first Christmas there by myself, had no friends and only relative was out of town. I had a tree, decorated with the pocorn as I couldn't eat all that was made, it also had a couple strings of lights. Was not the greatest Christmas I had to enure, not was it the worst.
The worst has to have been three years ago, the first one with no S/O after 30 = years. Oh the kids were there but the feeling one gets from an S/O has no significance until you do not have it!!
Today, Christmas Eve, has been a day of recalling the good times and attempting to eliminate the negative feelings because tomorrow I will be with my kids, their hubbies and my grandson. Something that I will have to look forward to for a long time. But with the extended families not wanting to make plans until the last minute, there is always the question of what and where things will be done. We had originally planned that the kids and I would share Christmas Eve together, but that did not come to fruition, so it was a malancholy day of movies, reading forums and sad to say shedding of some much needed to lose salt water in the form of tearsl
This time of year is a Special time for us that love to give of ourselves, when we cannot it is very saddeneing. I hope that some day another S/O will allow me to share all my time when I need to do it!!
Have a Merry Christmas one and all, and remember, we are wealthy if we have but only one friend!!

| Alone on Christmas? Posted: 12/24/2006 11:06:00 PM | This will be my first christmas alone. I have work, and I have a good friend coming over.

Kind of puts things into perspective for the hollidays. Thank you Duffy. It is nice to be surrounded by friends and to share good cheer. Once you have the hollidays alone, it becomes more prominent, that it is a time to spend with friends and loved ones and nothing can take that feeling away.

| Alone on Christmas? Posted: 12/25/2006 2:01:02 PM | Maybe next year, it would be nice to have a Christmas Day Party. Oh I know all those people that normally have a nice home-cooked christmas meal with friends and family, would miss out on it, but then
Let them suffer for once. Jesus did, oh sorry that was Easter, wrong holiday.
Party in Ontario December 31, 2007, my place
Oh yeah, Merry Christmas Alberta
