anyone got a clue?

Posted: 7/2/2005 9:19:08 AM | Maybe it's because most of us have day jobs and can't fall asleep  at work.
Nightlife for me is 6 PM -12 PM  and most of the bands  don't start until 10 PM or 11 PM in this town. Getting up for work around 5:30 AM  and staying up past Midnight   doesn't leave much time for sleep.
If your looking for some night life try Tommy Rockers on the weekends at 10 PM  or the casino lounge.
I think there is a niche market for those of us 50 and older. The Baby Boomers have some money, the kids are gone and we are willing to spend some money on entertainment. But, that entertainment has to fall within the hours we are awake.
If anyone knows of any places in the Las Vegas Valley, please post them here.

| I Found Some Early Nightlife

HB's Italian Restaurant & Bar at 6820 W. Flamingo Road & S. Rainbow.
A new restaurant on the West Side, it has only been open 6 weeks now.
Tonight they had a group called "True Passion" playing. Awsome group. 
They have just moved from Florida and have been here only 3 weeks.
I was told this group is currently being signed to play on the Strip, so hear them before they move down to the Las Vegas Showrooms.
Bob Stewart sings Rod Stewart songs and (I was told by the bar owner) is a blood relationship with Rod Stewart. He does look like a cousin of Rod Stewart. Jo Rae, his wife, does a variety of songs and can knock a Celine song out like I have never heard before.  
You will not be disappointed coming out to see this group.
Jo Rae and Bob are both very nice people.
"True Passion" will be playing at HB's again for the next 3 Thursday nights.
Then again at HB's on a Friday night, November 10, 2006.
They start at 8:00 pm for all those interested.
I plan on being there on Thursday at 8 pm.
I believe they will also be playing at Mr D's on S. Rainbow this Saturday night (September 30th), starting around 9:00 pm.
HB's Italian Restaurant & Bar is having a Rock Band and a Costume Contest for Halloween, Saturday October 28, 2006. I don't have an exact time but, you can call the bar at (702) 221-8884 for details and times for their events.
They have "Open Mic" on Tuesday nights and I understand it is becoming very popular.
Karaoke on Thursday nights at 8 pm.
HB's has seating for 92 people and the owners said to invite everyone! So I am!

The Red Rock Casino has Do Wop and dancing on Sunday nights at 7:00 pm.
You may want to call or check the Red Rock Web site to check if Do Wop is still playing before you go.
The Suncoast had dancing to the Do Wop group playing on Tuesday Nights at 7:30 pm. I understand they will now have a different group playing on Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm. Check with the Suncaost before you go to see who is playing.
The Gold Coast Casino has a band on Friday and Saturday nights at 9:00 pm in the lounge. You may want to check on the band before you go. The dance floor is usually very full and all the seating is always full. | |

Posted: 10/19/2006 9:37:51 AM | I don't care for the typical nightlife, i.e. going to bars and night clubs. It's ok for certain occasions, etc but just not for me. People from other states are shocked when they ask me what are great night clubs and I respond with the same answer, I have no clue! Before going to a birthday party back in September, I hadn't been on the strip since they imploded the Dunes and I was only there for that. Even still, we took the back road to the Hotel and never layed foot on the strip, so I guess if we're being technical, I still haven't checked it out.

i've heard that DooWopp.com (one of my faves) is at Red Rock on Wed nites instead of Sundays now. Might want to checkout their website for more info.
On Sat 10/28 8-11 pm "Harvest Dance" party (costumes recommended but not required) at First Presbyterian Church 1515 W Charleston (just west of I-15). Door prizes $12 at the door to benefit "Families First" organization.
Sunday nights 7pm DanceGig.com (google it) til 9pm Free swing dance lessons. I love it! Best lessons I've had. Lots of singles of all ages there (but not all there are single).
Will try the True Passion sometime.

The place has a Beach/Surf theme and women in bikinis DRINK FREE! Rainbow for this Friday, Nov. 24th, next Friday, Dec. 1 and then every other Fri in December. Come on out and join our fun! They will also be entertaining us at the POF Dec. 10 Christmas Get Together at Kerry's Sports Pub. No reason to sit home!

No one in the place stayed in their seats as the music was toooooo contagious...LOL (You will be dancing like this crazy bananna.........)
