| Which bar do you like the best and why?
Posted: 4/4/2005 10:49:53 PM | Hey everyone, I am just interested in which bar everyone likes and why?
Personally, I like the WareHouse, Palace and the Dome because most of the crowd that hangs out there I know from university. I also like these places because the music is good and the cute ladies sure know How To Dance. 
So yeah, share whatever you like to share

Posted: 4/6/2005 5:31:21 AM | I like the Seahorse, Rob, because each night is different. Some nights it's Indie Dance night (which I think is way better music then the Dome), where people dress super cool and everyone is laid back and you can shake your thang. And some nights at the Seahorse you can find punk bands that will also make you wanna shake your thang. lol. Basically the place is always changing so you're bound to like something from there. Its so nice and cozy and they happily serve you water. No coat check but no worries becasue theres lots of places to leave your outdoor wear. I think the Seahorse is an awesome place for a late night, but the Shoe Shop is the best place for intimate drinks. All the way in the back you have all the privacy you want in a wicked atmosphere. Besides, these places have been around forever so they must be doing something right!

Reflections, or subrosa if you're going dancing no drinks... but The dome if you're gonna drink youre face off and have a good time.... .....lol | |

Guess What? You know what's funny: When you split the Dome you get Do-me out of it.
I am pretty sure when the night ends alot of people are accomplishing that.

I'm a big fan of Mantra (I live with the drummer), Huge, and War Pony. Since they play there quite often it kicks ass. By the way Mantra is playing Stage Nine of April 22. | |

This one time I went but I had forgotten my ID. This is after I've been there dozens of times and I KNOW the guy recognized me. I was like "C'mon I know the people in the bands but regardless he wouldnt let me in. I flipped out on him saying "You know I thought this bar was different, but you are just another ***hole, and you should know better then to turn away a good customer!" spit on the floor and walked out.
Then again they get fines, and I was a drunken fool lol.

When you split the Dome you get Do-me out of it.

Try the dome, and when i say dome I mean the whole place, Cheers, The Attic, etc..

Posted: 2/24/2006 9:27:07 PM | I enjoy going to Boomers (Its Under a New Name Now) when I do go out, but after going to the Warehouse last month I was quite impressed lol Nice Place for a Party.

Warehouse also has a great layout for summer.

Posted: 2/28/2006 8:00:23 AM | yea, I guess the "re-vamping" took away the marquee spirit too, because no it's only open during certain functions and doesn't have it's cabaret license anymore... I LOVED THE MARQUEE...
but mostly Hell's Kitchen, I loved the bar, the dancefloor, the bartenders, the pizza booth, i liked the other bar, before they made it into a smoking room, I liked the back room, and the griminess of it.. and how there were like 10 dozen stacked bottles of beer, that would always fall around me, but not on me (the place is haunted), I love the 150 year old beams that come out of the ceiling downstairs, i love how no one ever used the last stall in the girl's bathroom, and it was coined "the lay-deez" stall... i love the darkness of it, the sound the bar offers, I love the beat up police car door, and the mannequins that hung from the upstairs ceiling, I love Sherry My bartender.. who know frequents stage nine..., I loved thursday nights there.. I loved how i lived there from wed-sat every week... but have never worked there. I love the secret bathroom, by the exit downstairs.....
I could go on and on and on about this bar.. because I'm so madly in love with it, and if I ever COME into money, I'm buying it from Victor.. and making it like it used to be... It's sad that not many people know how amazing the marquee used to be, and all the troopers that used to go, either don't go downtown anymore.. or are too old or both!
I also, used to love Jean Pierre's blues and jazz club. My home away from the marquee away from home.. hehh.
I too like the warehouse... very much so, even more so in the summertime.. the place is jammin' hopefully this year we'll take advantage of it. | |
