| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 2:11:05 PM | this woman that I know has been going out with this guy for 3 weeks and today she came in sporting a new tattoo, she'd had his name across the base of her spine, and he'd had her name on his spine
How ridiculous is this?
I'd think long and hard about having a fellas name tattooed on my body, my ex has my name tattooed 3 times, i just hope he meets someone else named Dawn
This person isnt a silly, immature, teenager, she's a 40 odd year old grown woman
Your thoughts on having your partners name tattooed on your body plz

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 2:25:14 PM | I knew someone who had a girls name tattoo'd on his kn0b, something he had done when he was a 18 year old youth
I dunno he probably shagged her for a few weeks, fell in love an regretted it when they split up. I would never get a partner's name tattoo'd on my body, apart from Dawn
My mate is a tattooist, Dave tries to talk people outta getting their girlfriends names tattoo'd when they come in his shop, one guy came in got his girls name tattoo'd on his arm, split up came back got it covered with another tat2, got back with her came in had the name tattoo'd again

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 2:27:40 PM | Me personally a name nooooooooooo, mind you I wouldn't have a tattoo full stop. I think about getting one on occassions. Then think of my friend who has one that looks manky, due to the fact she had it placed and then had a c-section, it kind of made it wonky!
Aslo I always hear my mothers voice saying lovely and when you are a granny you can iron out the wrinkles so everyone can see what it is!
The number of people I know that rgret a tattoo is lots and so that also puts me off.
I have no objection to them on other people's skin just not mine ta!

That's just reminded me! when i was a teenager and a bit of a rebel (if ASBOS had been around in them days i'd have deffo had one ) we were drinking cider in the park one day and a lad fancied me so he said i'll show you how much and then proceeded to tattoo my name in indian ink on his KNEE!!
haven't seen him for years, wonder if he's still got it

3 weeks?! I think she's mental.
Your thoughts on having your partners name tattooed on your body plz
I really do like tattoos, and will get some more done on myself in the future. And like to see them on guys.
But I'll never ever get a guy's name done and wouldn't want my guy to have my name on his body.
If he wants to show me how much he loves me, he'll get his willy pierced.

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 3:57:58 PM | My ex hubby had a tattoo on his arm of his ex's name, it never really bothered me but he thought it did so he came into my work one day and told me that he had got it removed. I was secretly quite pleased until he proceeded to tell me that he had got one done of my name on his other arm, i couldnt believe it, we had only been going out together for 6 weeks.
A long time later, think we might have been engaged or married by this time, we had fallen out and he got drunk and went and got some flowers tattoed over my name which looks so naff as my name was in the middle of a heart so its pretty obvious that the flowers are a cover up job lol, oh well its him who has to live with it, not me!!

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 4:11:26 PM | I think she is stupid and will regret it big time! I always tell anybody that thinks of having a name that it will not last forever, when I was 16 I had a boy have my name tattoed on his wrist we split up over it as I thought it was pathetic at that age and I had only been going out with him for a couple of months......wonder if he still has it....lol
I have a tattoo on my shoulder but it has my kids names above it...after all they will always be my children no matter what but I would never have a man's name! Nothing ever lasts for ever nowadays.
I have met many men that have had their ex's name (some more than one)....and it is off putting when you get into a relationship with someone new and wake up every morning to see a reminder of his past staring you in the face!

Would I ever consider getting someones name tattooed onto my body? No. I can think of a lot more fun ways to show them how much I love them than putting needle and ink to skin.

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 4:52:37 PM | | I have a few tattoo's. And talking about names, i have one on my shoulder blade with my daughter's names on it, and like xxANNAxx in msg 12 says, that doesn't matter our daughter's and son's will always be around, and that doesn't count. But as for a partner's name thats a no go for me, no way!!!! | |

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/30/2006 5:02:46 PM | I think your mate is of her rocker!!
I personally wouldnt dream of having my partners name tattooed on me, if it went belly up i'd be stuck with this bleedin reminder!
I once contemplated having my sons name tattooed on my person but then i thought if i go on to have more children i would have to also do their names also as to avoid favourtism. This is why i have come up with one word that symbolises to me family, love and children and this word i shall have tattooed on me.

Thought might just have the alphabet printed across my a***, then blokes can make of it what they want, but there should be enough letters to spell wanker!

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/31/2006 3:16:38 AM | I dont like tattoos, no reason just think they look like cheap decoration and spoils the skin!
However tattoo wearers must feel proud to have them and thats cool, but I lack the understanding why they would be the case. Are Tattoos a statement, a personal message, a rebellious streak, a love of art, a love for a person, an insecurity, a need to feel different, wants to look hard (please!!! It doesnt!!), loneliness - wants to be accepted?? The list goes on but maybe its bits of all of them??
I suppose its a bit like body piercing and is just a bit of fashion/cult??
To have a name of someone tattooed on them is a strange mix of cuteness and outright stupidity! Cute because its sweet that someone would love someone enough to show everyman and his dog, and stupid because no one really wants to know or see it, and whatever happened to flowers or the words "I love you", surely a cheaper option!

| Tattoo's - having a name tattooed on your body Posted: 12/31/2006 3:25:50 AM | ^^^ i had two of my tattoos to cover scars and one because i made a drunken bet that i would and i never back out of a bet lol.
Regarding names..i can understand why someone would have childrens names as they are in your heart and life forever but not a partner..relationships are never guaranteed and i certainly would hate waking up looking at a partner and seeing the name of his ex looking back at me.
