Posted: 12/30/2006 9:20:31 PM | It's just me and Dean (9 yo son) for NYE tonight. I planned a nice meal to include 11 y o son (who's now sleeping over at his mates house), daughter and her boyfriend but they've gone out already, so I have spinach/ricotta ravioli in mushroom sauce, hot bread rolls, marinated olives, jarlsberg cheese, avocado dip, bottle of Merlot, and for desert individual strawberry mousse pavlovas with fresh passionfruit, kiwi fruit and bananas, cream and ice cream..... and the shame of it all is there's just me and Dean and he's happy to have a bowl of cereal for dinner. Need company!

I also am soloing it this nye, but hey we get used to it I guess. Perhaps if I lived closer I would be only too happy to keep you company.
What I cant understand is attractive women actually being alone on NYE etc, even with children, surely there are men mature enough to accept single mothers as good company and / or prospective partners - sheesh!
p.s. before anyone jumps in, I also apply the same to those single fathers out there.

Posted: 12/31/2006 12:17:59 AM | Have a really nice evening Shells and Bob - my plans fell through, but am going around to visit a mate who was also soloing it with his 2 youngest kids, so we will keep each other company. I actually got invited around for dinner - honey soy chicken, yum - but I am still busily consuming Chrissie leftovers, like fruit mince pies, mmm-mmmm!!
Still, would be nice if there are some fleftovers when I get there ...

Posted: 12/31/2006 3:27:11 AM | Likewise peoples...my plans fell through. I'm still up here in Hervey Bay visiting my folks. I took my kids for a walk along the peir...it's 1 km long and we saw a shovel-nose shark hauled in. We had a bite to eat in one of the cafes and headed back home. Mum and dad aren't doing much...my boyfriend is back on the Gold Coast...so think I might just read a book.
HNY to you all. Oh...I do have a bottle of Baileys I could open. | |

i'm in early-ish, my 2 kids are ka-pooped!
i'm swaying slightly but co-herent-ish
it was pizza at the lookout,
home early,
then off to the neighbours for a widdle dwinkie poo's with kids complete,
and now i'm here wiff you guys 'n' kids asleep.
it's all good.

Posted: 12/31/2006 1:11:33 PM | I just had a quiet night with 2 good friends and my 9 yr old grandson we just laughed and made it a good way to bring in the new year
I hope this one doesnt go as fast as last year did.
I hope to make some very good friends in here as well .
