What movies do you love that cause all your friends and loved ones to shake their heads?

My all time is "Better off Dead". I have seen it 180 times and no one I know likes this movie.

I have to admit, since I grew up in the 1980's (HS), I have a soft spot for 80's teen movies, no matter how outdated!

Can you tell I did a thread search?

Tonight Cherry 2000 is on and guess who's watching it - again?
What are some of the movies that you aren't thrilled to announce to
everyone that you love to watch? Other than Cherry I love:

Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
Beverly Hills Chihuahua (hey, my cat likes it)
Legend
Making Mr Right

There are others, but you get the idea. Share.

well it's a good thread digging up.
mine is Pretty Woman. Saw it more times than any human should. I usually watch it once every couple months or few months. I think it's the feeling the movie gives off that's addicting...that Cinderella fairytale feeling.

My favourites are the old horror movies like Dracula, Wolfman, the Mummy and Frankenstein. The best would have to be the Godzilla movies, they have them on latenight tv sometimes, always fun to watch again.

I have a few.

Bride of Frankenstein
Dr Strangelove
Jaws
Evil Dead
Zombie Land
Dawn of the Dead
Dracula
Amazon Women on the Moon
Grindhouse "Deathproof"
Airplane
Up in Smoke
Dirty Harry....

Friends think my taste in movies is old fashioned for some reason.

I can still watch "The Warriors" (from 1979) and never get sick of it. It's sooo dated and the acting is pretty bad... but still love it dearly.

Other movies that fall into my "shameful guilty pleasures" :

They Live
Enter the dragon
The Rutles
War Games
Coffee and Cigarettes
Up in Smoke
Krush Groove
2001 : a space odyssey
Gremlins

Deep Water
The stunning true story of the first solo, non-stop, round-the-world boat race, and the psychological toll it took on its competitors. Sponsored by the Sunday Times of London, the much-ballyhooed event attracted a field of nine, including amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst, who set out to circumnavigate the globe in late 1968. Battling treacherous seas and his own demons, Crowhurst almost immediately comes apart as he faces the isolation of nine months on the high seas.

Man on Wire
is a 2008 documentary film directed by James Marsh. The film chronicles Philippe Petit's 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center.

Sharkwater
Filmmaker Rob Stewart's love for sharks prompts him to undertake a dangerous journey in an effort to save sharks from extinction.

More Than a Game
is a 2009 American documentary film that follows NBA superstar LeBron James and four of his teammates through the trials and tribulations of high school basketball in Akron, Ohio and James's journey to fame.

Bigger Stronger Faster
is a 2008 documentary film directed by Christopher Bell about the use of anabolic steroids as performance-enhancing drugs in the United States and how this practice relates to the American Dream.

Manufacturing Dissent
is a 2007 documentary that asserts that filmmaker Michael Moore has used misleading tactics. The documentary exposes what the creators say are Moore's misleading tactics and mimics Moore's style of small documentary makers seeking and badgering their target for an interview to receive answers to their charges.

A League of Ordinary Gentleman
The documentary follows four professional ten-pin bowlers after the Professional Bowlers Association is purchased by a trio of Microsoft programmers who hire Steve Miller, a Nike marketing guru, to revitalize the sport.

Faster
A heart-hammering sensation at Slamdance, Faster is an electrifying tribute to the white-knuckle world of the Motorcycle Grand Prix--the fastest sport on two wheels--where only the most audacious competitors race at speeds over 200mph and crash at over 100mph. Narrated by Ewan McGregor (Big Fish, Star Wars: Episodes I-III), Faster chases two seasons’ worth of the world championship, featuring revealing interviews with riders, mechanics, doctors, commentators and fans.

Speed Tribe
Speed Tribe features Le Mans like you've never seen it. Through an amazing cinematic presentation, cars, people and race sounds are set to electronic beats and soundscapes, originally composed and produced in superb surround sound by legendary producers from Front 242.

Cola Wars
were a campaign of mutually-targeted television advertisements and marketing campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s between soft drink manufacturers The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo.

The Corporation
is a 2003 Canadian documentary film written by Joel Bakan, and directed by Mark Achbar and Jennifer Abbott. The documentary is critical of the modern-day corporation, considering its legal status as a class of person and evaluating its behaviour towards society and the world at large as a psychiatrist might evaluate an ordinary person.

A guilty pleasure is something you are ashamed or embarrassed to let others know you enjoy. A lot of the movies listed are actually highly regarded.

Tuff Turf....

The name is probably the classiest part of it. I had uber long hair like one of the female leads and wore my hair crimped for months.

I found it on DVD a few years ago, and watch it every six months or so for the trip down memory lane.

Aw, come on SingleGuy, confess to just one movie you're
embarrassed to admit you really enjoy.

Mr D - "They Live" shouldn't be a guilty pleasure. That is
an under-rated fun movie.

Frankie - now we know who they produce documentaries
for. (don't take my teasing seriously, after all I listed
Spacehunter)

Ok, here's one - The Postman.

It won the Razzie Award for worst picture of 1998 and was nominated for worst picture of the decade.

The Gods Must be Crazy I & II. We used to watch at least one of them back east, as part of our New Year's party ritual at my house. The main character, Bushman N!xau, died a while back. I cried all day.

Also the original Christmas Carole with Allistair Simm. Named my hyperthyroid cat Ebenezer after him!

Other than that, open to most Indie films about what is happening to real people in today's unreal world. We have an indie film meet-up here. And, before I forget: When Harry Meets Sally and Camilla (with Jessica Tandy).

Everyone says I'm crazy when I claim that Josie and the pussycats is the Citizen Kane of our time, so I guess I should be ashamed of liking it. But I'm not damnit!

I wish i could have told that to my last date when she saw it in my collection and rolled her eyes and said "oh god.. you too"

All my guilty pleasure movies are now hidden under the bed as if they were porn.

Pffft. Who Framed Roger Rabbit as a guilty pleasure.

That is actually one of my all time favorite films, was a box office hit and won critical acclaim.

I love Creepshow and Lost Boys as well.
Of course, Pretty Woman and a number of other movies mentioned here. An honorable mention to Dances With Wolves. Great film!

Dare someone mention Glitter with Mariah Carey? Counting down...1...2...3....
