| would anyone be interested in a POF party in the liverpool/ wirral areas, Posted: 1/14/2007 2:52:44 PM | | I'm well up for a meet in Liverpool and I suggested the Rat and Parrot as a possible meeting point not because it is the trendiest pub in town but it is very close to all the transport links. I have approached the pub in the day and they said depending on numbers as long as they got enough money over the bar we could have the top floor to ourselves. I have not been back in touch with the manager yet to finalise things but if I can get reliable help it's easy to do. | |

I'll be going of course...no show without Punch
Dunno where the best venue would be...so I'll leave it to the young 'uns that frequent town.

It's only 1/2 hour on train from Manchester so I'll be up for it, Never been in the Rat and Parrot so cannot comment.

I'm definately up for that.

I even gave her the place to go for. She's dibbed out again, so I'll tell you wherre a brill place to hold it would be - exclusive t0o which is what you'd need.
Me Kirby bloke told me this, cos it's near the Kirby vac HQ... have you heard of Yorkshire Imperial Metalworks, just off the East Lancs road, and 10 mins from the city centre?... they hire their Function room out for a very reasoneable refundable amount. You'd just need to find some musicos!

The Rat and Parrot sounds like my kind of pub, I aint one for nightclubs unless I've had too many lemonades and I'm sure a lot of other people would be much happier meeting somewhere where they can hear each other talk then maybe moving on after if the mood takes them there?

Whilst the place Ferni mentions might be ideal, it means somebody handing money over up front. If the Rat and Parrot are willing to give POFfers the exclusive use of their upstairs, it suggests it doesn't get busy enough to fill it with people off the street.
So go there, or somewhere similar, and kick it's dodgy reputation down the mersey. Or give it an even dodgier one
It's really not that difficult to organise a meet. Pick a date, book the venue, stick up a thread and andwer some questions. That's just about all there is to it. Oh, and make people wear badges.
