| why do some people stay on a dating site when they have met a mate ??
Posted: 1/17/2007 2:25:12 PM | I am just curious as to why people who have met there supposed fish continue on in this dating site .Maybe i am wrong but i thought you went to a dating site to hopefully meet a mate and then go off into life happily ever after .

they were my friends before i met him... they are my friends now.
i like "talking" to my friends.
besides, shouldn't all the poor single people benefit from the advice of the attached people on how we found each other???

We know people here.. we are interested in their plight.. and maybe; just maybe.. offer some advice/insight. We were lucky to find each other.. and did some things right to get here.. so we can share our experiences.
We have both hidden our profiles to make sure we dont come up on searches.. and we both reference each others profiles.. AND..... we both have the picture of us .... | |

I stay on this site because my fiance and i have met many many people here whom we have become very good friends with - we travel around the province ( and occasionally out of it ) to meet and greet with our friends . We both enjoy the forums ( ok ok me a little more than him :) and I loveeeee hosting and co hosting and helping out with parties
So thats why i stayed and thats why i assume a lot stay | |

It's amazing for some this is a dating site, but for others it also quite the social thing. A lot of women have become friends on this site, and just bye chatting with others have become friends.
So for that...is the reason this caught fishy is on here. | |

For me i stay on this site for the forums and my SO does the same and neither of us are looking for something better and I think I speak for the majority of the others that stay on this site...it's for the forums and friends.....oh yeah and the parties | |

myself moved to the GTA area about 2 years ago,,did not know a soul!!!!!
I met many of friends through this site, and I meet NEW ones every week!!!!
And this is a supreme site for networking(work wise),,,you never know whom you may run across!!!!!
I bet,,,,if you ever had a problem,,,,you could find someone on this site to fix it or at least help you!!!!!!

OT People stay because they have formed friendship, and read and post in the forums....
I suppose it isnt any different than married people on here..........oops of course there is a difference......their partner knows because they met them here........LOL.....
there are also pof parties they go to where they both know people and are friends with them.
I find nothing wrong with couples staying on here, I know I did when I was with my ex-fishie......as he stayed too | |

OT: When I was involved in a relationship we both hadour profiles hidden, both said "not single/not looking" both said looking for "friends"
both profiles had nothing to do with what we needed from other pof'ers.......we had what we needed.

Simple, there's more to this site than just dating.
Like all the wonderful friend's I've made her.
Chatting on the forums.
Keeping up with parties and events.
If you've found someone special, by all means, mention them in your profile. And change your status to Not Single/Not Looking (that's what it's there for). But there's no reason to leave. | |

Posted: 1/17/2007 8:17:12 PM | I gave up fishing 4 months ago. But in the time I was here I made some awesome friends. and this forum I can use to keep in touch or up to date on things which I enjoy doing or people I like seeing.
Some of the parties are the best to be invited too, and the people are a bunch of friendly SOB's lol | |
