Are they really worth the hype? Also, the strip clubs that I've been to have an area for private lapdances... Is that an area where other things may happen or is it just so other patrons can't get a free close-up look while you get your paid dance? | |

it is more of an anything goes... although it is really a situation based on the women who is performing for you!
btw... strip clubs in TO are not brothels as far as I can tell... but there is a liberal interpretation of the law... and often the girls will take the law into thier own hands!!! | |

I once dated an exotic dancer many moons ago (met her outside the club - at the gym actually), and got to know some of her friends. It is a mercenary business. You may feel like chemistry is important, but don't flatter yourself.
Now this was a long time ago, and things may have changed, however I can't imagine the mercenary nature of the business has changed. Whatever your told or led to believe, just remember, its all about money. The dancers have the power in the relationship and are the ones who are in control, even though you may think your the one in control because your paying the money. Don't kid yourself. | |

1) You lose a ton of money
2) You get an endorphine rush when you do
3) You know where it is the next time you want some entertainment.
Private dances at some clubs are just that...dances....other times it can be more. If you have a backbone its a matter of a one syllable word......no....followed by a thank-you.
Dancers are ladies too. You don't think a car salesman is slime when he upsells you on undercoating, dvd player etc. so why is she? She's not.
I'm not an addict of "the ballet" but it has its time and place, and thats just fine by me. | |

Have gone with a girlfriend too a club before,, great time. free drinks and lap dances for her the whole time we were there. The guys throughout the club were sending us drinks and dancers for a couple hours! I dont know if they thought it would embarass us,, but we had a damn good time! Dancers said it always happens if a guy walks in and sits down with a pretty girl! Lots of women in them now,, you should go,, youd have a very good time!

At different times in my life (when NOT in a relationship) I have gone to many of them.
They are the WORST of all possible places to go to pick up women. Unless you are RICH or a DOPE DEALER, you are NOT going to pick up a girl in a strip club. The girls who dance in strip clubs are AT WORK. They do it for $$$$. They will tell you anything you want to hear to keep you buying drinks, tipping, and buying lap/table dances. That's their JOB. You are a MARK to be seperated from as much of your cash as possible, as quickly as possible.
If you have a special fantasy about dating/laying a stripper, do NOT try to meet one in the club as a customer. You'll have to meet them some other place or some other way.
Right now, the only bar I frequent (maybe once a week) is a strip club. I did a work project in the bar, and met the Mgr., Owner, Day Mgr., the DJs, and several of the dancers. I go there now because I have friends there. I have gone out with 2 of the girls (both lesbians) just for the company. I always laugh at the guys I see in there trying to pick the girls up.
I watch them hit on a girl I KNOW is going home to her husband at the end of her shift... or her girlfriend... or her dope dealer.
NOW... as to your question about lap dance etiquette...
Laws vary from place to place, but in Texas or Louisiana... the customers are NOT supposed to TOUCH the dancer while she is performing, onstage OR in the lap dance area. Most places I've been in this is usually ignored, and a lap dance is ALMOST a dry hump. Some girls DO turn tricks on the side, but MOST do NOT.
If a club finds out that a girl is hooking on the side, usually they will fire her. They don't want the Legal Ramifications if she gets busted, so if the girls ARE turning tricks, they are usually pretty careful about WHO they agree to. Other Words, probably NOT unless they have seen you a few times and feel comfortable that you are NOT a Vice Cop.
As far as offending a dancer...
These poor girls have been hit on and talked crudely to by more drunken a**holes in a month than you will see in your lifetime. Just the fact that you are concerned about it tells me that you will treat the girls like LADIES (which MANY of them are... LOTS of dancers are putting themselves through college, or are single Mothers who can't make as much $$$ any other way without selling drugs or p*ssy) which precludes the chance of your doing something vile enough to offend one. Believe me... these girls have heard it all...
