| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:16:40 PM | Why do you need a license to have a kid ?
are you kidding me...take a look around...kids are having kids...take a look at some of the women on this site (the mothers that put in their interests that they love getting drunk, do drugs and having sex, presumably with anyone and everyone)...some of them are still pregnant while being on here...now Im not passing judgement on them...but comeeeeee onnnn....

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:17:59 PM | The biggest one I can think of is the DEATH PENALTY
Automatic losing your license and car when caught drinking and driving
Life sentences for rapists and pedophiles
Stiffer sentences for domestic abuse wheather you are man or woman
More severe punishment for children's aid when they don't do their job ie: four kids that were in the system living in grow ops in two different houses HELLO how in the hell can you miss that.
legalize marijane and prostitution then at least it will be safer for the girls and more regulated
stiffer sentences for people who abuse animals
that's my two cents worth

EI is already fairly hard to collect. Certainly people cheat, but that will happen regardless. It's E *I* - that's insurance. You pay into it as a balance against losing your source of income. You must be out of work through no fault of your own, you have to prove you are actively seeking work, and you have a limited period in which you can be picky about it. What's needed is harsh penalties for abuse. Don't ask me what penalties - it's hard to fine someone who's living off insurance.
Mind you...they could be disqualified from future insurance.

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:19:32 PM | - All drivers over the age of 65 need to be retested yearly. - Smoking should ONLY be banned ANYWHERE if the government makes it illegal and stops collecting taxes from its use. - Welfare should not increase with the amount of kids you have. It should be revoked if you have a kid while on welfare. - Pedestrian and bicycle fines for infractions should be tripled to match those of drivers. - Drinking and driving convictions should result in a loss of driving privileges should be revoked perminantly . No exceptions. If people havent learned that drinking and driving is not ok by now, they never will and should be removed from the road. | |

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:22:00 PM | I think needing to have your license to have kids would be a stupid law. I don't have my license, and I don't plan on getting it for a really long time. I don't think people should be forced to get it in order to reproduce.

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:27:00 PM | Smoking should be banned ANYWHERE where it's likely to compell someone else to breathe it. You don't force your rye down my throat, why would you force your smoke into my lungs? Oh wait - that's already the way the law is going! By all means, ban it entirely - when it can be done without eliminating careers overnight.
Pedestrian and bicycle fines? Not entirely against it, but it's not like you need a license for either. If a driver is licensed, they have already learned the law and CHOOSE to break it. No guarantee that's true for cyclists or pedestrians.
Iffy on the welfare thing. The trouble with welfare parenting is that it becomes very difficult to look after kids AND work if you're already on welfare. Maybe if relatively inexpensive child care is offered as a trade-off? Your solution would cause more problems than it solves.
Your driving concepts are good.
For god's sakes, use GOOD BBQ sauce on that pooch. Bad sauce is abuse. If you MUST tenderize, use papaya or pineapple as part of the marinade.

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:33:40 PM | ~ Exploiting children is a LIFE TERM punishment ~ That a dollar cap be placed on Rental property and Housing purchases ~ That smokers get the same treatments as offered to illegal drug users (Smoking aids not recognized in health benefit plans!!) ~ That a cap be placed on sky rocketing gas prices ~ That dogs MUST pee in their OWN DAMN YARD.
There's my rant. | |

OK. I thought of another.
People who start threads on POF..."Why am I read and deleted"...should be virtually spanked!
LOKI, did you hear how PETA would not help the animals in the ice storm?

| Name 5 laws you believe should be changed here in Canada Posted: 1/25/2007 8:46:15 PM | Who cares if they are a minor, they committed the crime and it should be law to publish their names. Young offenders act is a waist of time charge them as an adult. Introduce a summer driver's license and a winter driver's license. If you can't pass a practical driving test in winter driving conditions you don't get to drive till you pass. Way to many terrible drivers on the road who don't know how to slow down for poor roads conditions. How many accidents a day are there on the Anthony and Whitemud due to dumb a$$es. Definitely agree on a death penalty for murder's, they took away someone's right to live so why should they have the right to live on tax payer dollars. Robert Pickton if proven guilty on all 26 counts of murder should be lined up infront of a 26 member firing squad. Hmm i'm sure if one looked hard enough we could find places to stop excess government spending on useless crap and salaries that could be better spent on the health care system. | |

All drivers over the age of 65 need to be retested yearly.
Now cut that out, I am nearly there and it's bad enough having to go every 5 years, let alone yearly.
Have you checked the accident stats lately, lest incidence of accidents is 55-75 age group, that's why I get a discount that you don't yet!!
5 laws that need changing
-repeal the income tax law, the war it was to pay off was 90 years ago! -repeal the riding abreast on a horse in the City of Calgary, after all this is cowboy country! -bring back the days of walking with your top off, regardless of your sex -enforce in equal fashion the laws for minors and adults -repeal the copyright laws so we can get things cheaper, quicker!
