The orpheum is on Fort street, near portage ave.It has a 10 or more pool tables, and plenty of space to meet and chat. Lets all meet, and see where it goes. | |

I think meeting in person is way faster. Its proven , that nonverbal communication, is over 50% of our communication. I've been trying to get people to come over to my house and play all day to no avail...so I'm gonna cuddle up with the dog and watch movies. Godfather series here I come

If you want people to come out and meet you, then put a picture up so they know who you are. This is 2007 and the day and age where SAFETY is the priority. People cannot be too safe anymore and must be way smarter about internet safety. I would never meet someone who didn't show me a pic, and I think this would be the same thing. You would be the ultimate 'watcher' because you have not identified yourself prior to the people showing up. You would then have all the power to reveal or not to reveal yourself...I don't think that is too enticing to many women...but I digress and say...

I wouldn't want someone knowing who I am in relation to POF, but they get to remain anonymous...then potentially follow me home or something worse with me being none the wiser because he was an unknown subject to me...make sense?

Culture shock and denial after moving from a a town of 4000 to here I guess. After a few years of adjusting I gotta say, she's right...
Suggestion you could plan a function for that location (I believe this is your second attempt at the Orphuem) far enough in advance to allow people time to plan to go in a group, so no singles are walking alone to and from their cars. Not spontaneous I know, but spontaneous locations might be better if they have their own attached parking lots with security in the lot. | |

Would you want to go out to something organized by someone who chose to remain anonymous?
People can and do meet anytime, anywhere, spontaneously...but this isn't exactly spontaneous in the real sense of the word because YOU will be able to recognise pics and know who is from POF. That would be a predators dream!! Not to say you are one of course, but I don't know you from Jack...lol 
Thanks wer1...I wasn't always this cautious...and am still known to throw caution to the wind at times, but I can admit I am a little paranoid and cautious...some might say it is due to my line of work, but to be honest it is more from my own personal experiences. Stalkers are no fun... I just want people to be and keep safe...No worries though, I have immense faith in humanity! | |

...and trust me...it is a very uncomfortable and scary game indeed.
I've had this situation in real life and with POF...In real life an unknown man was calling me daily for months, telling me exactly where I had been that day, what I did there, etc...he would tell me things about me, and would never converse 'with' me...he would tell me I 'should' know who he is...He knew exactly who I was, my phone number and address and routine...and I didn't have a clue who he was...and still dont...he disappeared when threatened with police action by a 3rd party who was there for one of the phone calls...
From POF...one night I went to a social with friends...had a pinch too much to drink (badbad) and a guy came over to talk to me...he later contacted me via POF and asked about the social. Unfortunately for me, I didnt remember meeting or talking with him and he took offense. He started to bash me in the forums and stalk my posts...He knew who I was but I didn't know who he was...
True....this could happen randomly in a bar...but it is disconcerting to thnk someone might actually potentially head out to a venue to meet an unknown subject... | |
