I was briefly a member of a pay site once, and the first person, (also one of the only people) who contacted me on there was "stuck in Nigeria needing money". | |

I actually sent $50 to a scammer just to see where the check was cashed and it was in Africa...Gauna I remember. They always wanna come here and marry but I never met them. I know its a scam, but I mess with them anyhow..Just I aint sendin no more money. I will lead them on and on though so they waist there time thinking and thinking and thinking while the US drops a nuk on their ass.....lol | |

but most of all just disbeleive every word they say
word of warning on myspace they all pretend to live in the usa....but can be easily sussed as their messages are in pidgin english | |

I have been with POF for over a year now but I have received none of those from here counting that on both dating sites my profiles have always been "For Forums only / not looking". | |

A friend of mine that also uses this site has as well. We both are educated people and know better than to go along with anything that is requested. But should I have anything substantial, I would be glad to pass it along to you if you wish.

Posted: 2/3/2007 10:57:24 AM | There is this one site that caters to BBW's and its related sister sites which I swear is owned and run by the scammers themselves.
The pictures of the scam women are too well posed and shot and the quality is just too good. The fees on the sites are very reasonable but if the sites are run by the scammers themselves then the scams they run probably make up the difference for the low monthly fees. | |

This one site that I have a profile on is alway getting responses from russia. I usually just delete them without opening the message. Don't know if all the responses where a scam or not but it does make me wonder though. | |

The best ones are the ones that claim to be american that are working in the other countries, usually something where they had one or both parents die and the inherited a family business. They claim to be from a nearby major city, i have run in to some that say they are from Detroit or Chicago.
After some friendly banter for a few weeks, something happens, there hotel room is robbed, etc. They then ask for $$$ to be sent to the via western union and they assure me that they will more than pay me back when they return to the US.
I think it is fun to play the game with them now, to see how long it takes before they ask for the $$ then tell them it is on the way.
I can't imagine people fall for this stuff all the time, why not save yourself some heart ache, if you want I can give you my pay pal account number and you can just send the money to me. | |

Posted: 2/3/2007 10:59:58 AM | I've been on serveral site's and Yes there are so many scam's on most of them, I'm stuck here,or I came to get my dead father's estate in order and can't leave because, so many reason's to get you to send them cash thru Western Union, just please dont fall victim to these scamer's , If u really feel the need to waste up to $1000. or more , send it to ur favorite animal rescue program and at least it will do some good, Thanx Wayne  | |

They want you to cash a money order for them, which are fake....... They seem to fall in love with you almost immediately and tell you what they think you want to hear. Well most guys don't fall in love that fast............ Never had one on POF...... | |

I found that out, after I was trying to be nice, b/c i thought he lived in a nearby town and was taken for quite an amount of money. I then found his profile on plenty of fish later, but I hope that was taken off after reporting him. | |

Though that too was a free site. Only site I've ever sent money to was Hot or Not, but I haven't had that problem there. I bet it happens a lot on the highly advertised pay sites though! | |

But when i 19 or 20 yr old woman is looking for a long term relationship with a 52 yr old man, i have to look for "DEE PLANE" and see if iam on an Island, check to see if the viewed my profile(never happined) and block there butts. I learned it was the same person most of the time by the same typo's . | |
