I never heard these teams in the NFL....Unless these are expansion teams....
Just kidding Pedro....
New England Patriots all the way!!!

You make it sound as if North American football is improper or bad, which in my opinion is wrong. Any way my football teams are Detroit Lions for the NFL and Hamilton TigerCats for the CFL and for soccer the Toronto FC.

Pedro, when you refer soccer as "proper football" that sounds arrogant and condescending. While I don't think there's been anyone on this site that's spent more energy and effort pointing out some of these types of semantic mistakes to our friend Pyotr, I would be willing to let the Europeans have their way and continue referring to it as "Proper" football: it brings to mind some -well, proper- lads meeting up at the pitch for a game, after which they'll go out for a spot of tea...God Save The Queen, Hail Fellow Well Met, Cheerio, and all that; as long as they agree to refer to OUR game with an equally correct modifier: "Passion" football; as no other sport on Earth takes as much passion to play in!
That all being said, my favorite "Passion" Football teams are:
NFL: The Green Bay Packers (also God's favorite team; whaddya think the big "G" on the helmet stands for?) CFL: Hamilton Tiger-Cats NCAA: Wisconsin Badgers

You've got to watch some rugby Steve...maybe Munster in a Heineken Cup match...I think you'd get a kick out of it...hair standing on the back of your head stuff...
|
| football teams Posted: 6/14/2008 5:40:22 PM | | football is soccer for most of world depending on who you're talking to, nevertheless, in Ireland you might have to specify since we have gaelic football, but usually people know what you mean...in the US, unless you are chatting to a fellow soccer player, you don't say football since NFL is football...no problem in that right...it's just a name! | |

Steve that post is a belter mate....very funny. lol.
You ommitted the facts that the kids from the council estates here would burn the other kids jumpers for goalposts...there'd be no chererio other than a chase down the street with Stanley knives & anyone who held an oval shaped ball beit it rugby or 'puff rugby' as american football is referred to (joke) or rounders (baseball) would get....err well...chased with metal pipes & have stadium seats thrown at them.
I did like your post mate....genuine comment. :D

You've got to watch some rugby Steve...maybe Munster in a Heineken Cup match...I think you'd get a kick out of it...hair standing on the back of your head stuff... Well, I've seen some rugby matches on TV, and I've seen some live here -mostly amateur club stuff, but not that that means anything in regards to passion, just talent; the same regarding semipro(amateur) football here: the players may not have the talent to make it to the NFL or CFL, but they play with all the emotion-maybe more, since they have to provide their own equipment and pay league fees...and while it can be cheaper than golf or skiing, it still runs some $$! I've gotta stand by my original statement: no other sport involves as much passion from it's players as Gridiron Football. I know, my experience hasn't been the most wideswept; but ask some football moms (of High School students) whose sons play other sports as well, which games their sons get the most emotional about -both before and after the game.
