Posted: 2/5/2007 8:15:54 AM | Just wanted to know how many people out there believe in aliens or ghost...
I can say Iv seen a U.F.O.and know one can tell me different.My dad loves to say that it was probably sometime top secret that the U.S. is testing.But I really dont think what I saw could be.He also loves to throw in my face that the U.S.of A was flying the stealth fighters in the 1950s and the public knew nothing of them until the gulf war.But what I saw at the age of 14,was a ship,making no sound and there was know fire coming out of it,and it had lights all around it.And they were weird looking lights.It was about as big as a car.Like a ford taurus.And my brother was with me and he saw it as well.It was only about 50 yards up in the sky above us,like it was watching us jumping on or trampoline.Scared?Oh yea,We ran,and got or mom and went right back outside and it was gone.Anyone else have something like this happen to them.
As for ghost,Iv never seen one.But I do believe it to be possible. | |

Posted: 2/5/2007 9:29:19 AM | I grew up in an old turn of the century farm house. It was haunted and I spent most of my childhood in fear. I have no idea what I was afraid of, but the feeling of ominous presence was there.
I am like you chinua8 in that no one can tell me I did not see or feel what I saw and felt. I know I will not go back to that house and I don't find any amusement in those haunted bed and breakfast tours.

Posted: 2/5/2007 9:29:52 AM | Some of the strangest things in this world are so called facts, don't sweat it. Yes I've seen remarkable things in the sky that could never be explained as weather balloons, birds or even military aircraft. If there are unknown weather anomalies they would have to have a mind of their own and know when to hang about and how long for. So, I doubt any of those explain my UFO's. The last time I saw them was over New York City, they looked like strange cloud formations, but the way they spontaneously appeared and their shape defies that possibility. I wasn't alone and a pretty good photograph was taken too, if you're interested you can see them here:

Posted: 2/6/2007 4:00:21 AM | Having watched Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi for most of Superbowl Sunday, I can say that there are definately things that are not explainable.
As for aliens and UFO's? I look at it this way... It's a very large universe. And even if there is a 1% change that a planet can form and sustain life, you calculate that over billions of planets and it gets more likely. Now, how likely is it that one will house a highly advanced race? And wouldn't they be curious about other life forms in the universe? Then they happen along this blue marble. Wouldn't you stop and take a peek just to watch the fireworks fly? | |

Has anyone ever seen the movie FIRE IN THE SKY?
Its based on a true story where theses guys were driving home from work,in the north somewhere in the U.S.of A and they saw something in the sky and one of the guys got ot of the truck to get a better look and then the U.F.O. zapped him into the ship.I know what it sounds like.But all the guys that were left behind had to take a lie detecter test and when't under hypnosis and they all said the same thing.And then there friend came walking up one day about a week later totally naked and then he took a lie detecter test and whent under hypnosis and told the shrieff and other's what happened.Yea there are aliens. | |

Even the old testament of the Bible talks of Supernatural Beings that were here and chose to mate with the women, creating a supernatural race; giants. Who were these beings the Bible refers too???? think about it. If these were an alien race, It doesn't make christianity any less believable, it only makes it more understandable when you read the entire book from that view.
My impression of an 'alien race' is that is would be natural, for lack of a better word.....that is, have physical bodies, sensory perceptions, etc. The only comment I have about what you wrote is what we mean by supernatural. My definition of supernatural is that it is over and above nature....transcending mortal, physical bodies. Aliens don't do that....if they exist, they're just critters like us, although unlike us in whatever way they may be. Supernatural....yeah, I'm completely convinced of that. Aliens....nah. The Scripture passage you refer to has been interpreted in other ways, and your understanding doesn't offend or scare me. I'm just not convinced it's compellingly true.
Just my $0.02.

Posted: 2/22/2007 6:19:13 PM | When I was 15, maybe 16, I lived with my mom, and step dad in a house that had somewhat of a history. They would be gone, and I nwould have the house all locked up. I would hear the door open, and think my mom or step dad had come home, so I would go check, but noone was there. I would then hear someone running through the house, yet noone was there. Sure, I was smoking a little stuff I shouldnt have been, hence the paranoa when I thought my parents had come home, but I had done that at other homes I lived at, and never heard that, before, or after. I since learned that a boy, maybe 12 had died in that home before we had moved in. It all made sence then. But maybe it coulda been drug induced, but I had done alot more of them before that and hadnt of heard any ghosts. As far as aliens go, it seems hard to believe that f all the planets in the universe, that ours would be the only one with life, and who is to say that if thier is life on another planet that they would have to be smarter and more advanced than us? What if they arent? What if they are less advanced than we are? I tell ya what, I think some of my family must be aliens, cause they sure aint normal! | |

Posted: 2/23/2007 3:26:15 AM | Ghosts, yes. There's one who visits my house from time to time. It's my son's great grandfather, you never see Grandaddy Lee but you know when he's here.
Aliens, I have seen things in the sky on a few occasions, guess they can be called UFO's as I didn't know what they were but they sure were not airplanes or weather anomolies.
In the grand scope of things and the vastness of the universe, I can't fathom us being the only intelligent lifeforms. It just doesn't make sense to me.
My son and I joke around about how funny its going to be one day when the space ships land and we find out life as we know it is nothing more than an experiment!
If you like to read, try and find a copy of an old book called, "In Search of Ancient Astronauts". Very interesting reading. | |

Posted: 2/23/2007 9:47:44 AM | Ditto Cobbtowngal...I made a believer of my husband. When we first lived together he didn't believe in ghost's after living with me a VERY short while he did...lol. I have heard that there are "attractors" to ghosts and they follow you...while speaking to a driver on a ghost tour in Savannah she told me she was an "attractor" also and usually one would follow her home at least once/twice a week...I have had mischievous/bad/good and sometimes all at once...I have not "seen" all but they make their presence known...one quick story.
Two years ago alone in my house I heard two men arguing in my bedroom...so I went to look...I opened the door and it quit and I heard it a few times after that. I put it down to a ghost (had them so long they no longer bother me). I asked my husband if he had heard the men. He said no. The night he passed away, he was sitting at the dining table and he said Jer...remember those two men you asked about and I said yes...he said well I heard them tonight. I looked and nobody there...well that was the night he died. In the daze I was in, when the coroner came to my home (I was just in shock) and told him about the voices...I'll NEVER forget what he said...he said Jeri you are one Blessed woman...not only did you have one angel in your home tonight you had two...that man was the only person to give me some peace and calm that evening...God Bless Him...I think that God has already Blessed Him...
Yes there are ghost's that walk this earth.
Have never seen a UFO but my brother worked for NASA and he has met a lot of Astronauts, and has told me a few story's. To believe we are the ONLY beings in this galaxy which expands as we speak and to think there are no other life forms out there is...well it just is...I suppose those that don't are from Missouri... | |

I guess you can count me as a Missouri-an then, 'cause I don't believe in either ghosts or ETs! Yes, that means that I do believe that in all the vastness of the universe, life is unique to Earth. (Btw, even if there were intelligent beings Out There, how would they get here? It would take millions of years of travel, and no, contrary to popular belief, Einstein's Theory of Relativity does NOT permit time-travel!)

But as far as ghosts go ~ here's my ghost story ~ this is my experience:
I lived in an old house (1920's) in Gainesville not far from Brenau University at 610 Candler Street. It was divided into 2 apartments by a real estate guy and I rented 1/2 & Claire rented the other. We'd always ask each other what we had been up to because all the noise that we'd hear (banging, etc) during the night ~ at random times. Always we'd say ~ "It wasn't me, I thought it was you!" So this went on the whole year I lived there. My experience with the supernatural was this: It was mid July, and I didn't have A/C in the house. It was one of those great old houses with 12' ceilings and huge windows that were placed so that the breeze would flow through the house constantly. I had taken a cold shower because I was so hot, and when I got out I noticed steam just outside of the bathroom door. I thought it was odd ~ but I proceeded anyway with getting ready. Until my little dog (+/-10lbs) began to go berserk barking, baring her teeth, hackels fully up on her entire back. I stepped into the hall to see what was the matter and she made a huge leap at me ~ not to attack ~ but almost as if she were thrown into my arms. I barely caught her and she cried and all at once that steam cloud moved right through me. It was the coldest thing I have ever felt in my life, even up to this day. I was freaked out and the dog went under the bed for the rest of the day. I stayed there a few more months til my lease was up.
Fast forward 7 years. I'm at a party up there not far from where I lived ~ maybe 2 blocks away. I'm kinda half listening to this young couple (I have no idea who they are ~ never saw them before that evening) talk about the house they bought and were renovating in the area. They talked about a poltergeist that was living there that was just about to drive them out. She wouldn't even stay there by herself ~ always waited until he got home. They made a lot of claims of flying tools, horrific noises all night long, and physical encounters that just kept getting worse over their stay of about 6 months. This couple seemed like a smart pair, reasonable, sane, and they did not use any drugs. And they truly looked afraid of and worn out by what they were enduring. They put the house up on the market and were taking a huge loss on it just to get out.
I piped up and told my little story (the one above) but omitted the address. I asked them "where is your house?" to which they replied "Candler Street." My face must've changed and they looked at me and asked exactly where I lived. I said "610 Candler Street." It was the same house they bought ~ they were taking the wall that separated it down. We were all 3 so glad to hear that someone else had the same experience in the same place.
There's nothing like validation.
