Posted: 2/5/2007 1:45:13 PM | So, I missed the last get together being new to the site. But I've been hearing tons of positive feedback.
I say, lets do it again!
Sure, it's last minute!!! But the best laid plans are never really "planned"... so hang tight, here we go!!!!
THIS SATURDAY! FEBRUARY 10th... lets say 7:30 - 8:00 ish I'll be there. I'll bring a fish balloon so we all know where to congregate. If I can't find a fish balloon, I'll find a fish like balloon, or a balloon with fish on it.. even if it means I need to swipe a marker from the staff and draw one on the balloon myself.
Sure, i'll look like a moron carrying around a fish balloon, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Why the Foundry you may ask? It appears to have been a success in the past, so lets stick with what works.
The Foundry is a pub that offers plenty of room for all us fishers.
Looks like they offer food,****ails, darts, pool, shuffleboard, and a slew of large screen T.V.'s, just in case you don't feel like being social, I suppose you can always watch T.V.
I should warn you, this is an adult environment....21 and over.
There will be drinking, there will be music, there will be conversation, there will be laughter, and I'm sure there will be smokers. The non-smoking section is located outside the building, so if smoke irritates you immensly...bring a jacket.
Name tags will not be provided, however should you be so inclined to sport one feel free to do so at your own risk. May I offer a word of advice: *DON'T* This is not a business convention, lets keep it light, You see someone you like, go ahead introduce yourself... we'll all be there for the same purpose... to meet one another.
Plus, you'll want to avoid the mumblings of "who's the dork in the name tag???"

Posted: 2/6/2007 7:04:35 PM | 7 guys and 1 girl? come on! whoever is organizing this event should put a lil effort into at least getting a 50/50 split. we all know that there are more guys on dating sites than women but if i organized an event and could only get 7 guys and 1 girl i would sure feel like a moron even without the balloon...on the other hand at least there's some type of attempt at assembling a group of fish...which is more than i am doing just posting some smartass reply... | |

Really, how about some place in DuPage county? You know, Lombard, Villa Park, Elmhurst, Downers Grove, and the list goes on. I won't even go to Naperville because it's too close to Aurora. Why not have a meeting in Lafayette, IN for once and I'll be sure to be there for that one. As for the one in IL, I dont think I'll be able to make the meeting there.
