Posted: 2/14/2007 4:56:17 AM | I think in today’s religious fundamentalist world, both men and women are afraid to admit their beliefs for fear or retribution by a culturally different and religiously different sect.
After all this is a dating site and in my opinion many people don’t want to offend, or push away people that do not have the same beliefs as themselves, for it reduces their chances of success in finding a partner.

Posted: 1/3/2009 1:43:38 PM | Speak for yourself, I'm a man and have a strong belief in God; anyone who doesn't believe in God hasn't ever done any thinking real deeply on how something as complex as the human body, with thousands of organs, cells, etc. can work together to keep someone healthy and function, or looked out their window. As for being from the bible-belt, that could actually cause people to go in the other direction. Unless of course you believe that the society here exemplifies a good working society. I know I've had more than one crisis of faith, and couldn't list myself as a good Christian. The resoloution of the kill for your country, turn the other cheek as a good Christian was one of my early crisis that I had to face when I was in the Army... had a few since then. Got to be alot of reasons, since we are discussing alot of people. | |

but it would have been a lie.. i have talked to several ladies on these dating sites that had a religion selected on their profile but admitted later that they just said it because they were afraid of what guys would think if they knew she wasn't religious.
soooo maybe men are just more truthful then women when it comes to religion.

I put non religious on mine ... for the reason that I am here for friends and the forums ..and in that context religion does not matter ...I can be a friend with an atheist or a religious person .. as long as they dont push their opinion on me or condemn mine... in the aspects I discuss here religion does not apply .... If I was dating I probably would want someone with similar views as me .. but that would be evident when we met ...if I were dating I would never set out looking for a long term relationship ... I prefer to look for friends ..and choose my relationship from my friends .. and this brings me back to my opening statement ..a persons religious beliefs does not preclude them from being my friend
I believe that society and people in general would be better advised to do the same ...look for friends and let love find you ...and be willing to accept anyone as friends ..regardless of ..religion ...race ..popularity.. social status or any other superficial criteria
is this not what the prophet Jesus Christ taught ... no mater what you believe of him... these are the teachings attributed to him
actually I am non religious ..I subscribe to no organized religion ....I am however very spiritual ... I have many beliefs ..but not a religion ... to me religion is a title we give to ourselves ..in order to judge other people ... something else Jesus Christ taught against | |
