| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/24/2007 11:03:55 PM | | another year of cubs baseball is here, and jim hendry has been busy this offseason with getting guys like alfonso soriano, ted lilly, and cliff floyd, plus resigning aramis ramirez and henry blanco plus others. i wont guarantee a world series championship but it should be a fun year. so with that how do you all think we'll do? | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/25/2007 5:16:35 AM | | It all depends on if the curse of the goat has died out....best of luck, whatever was cursing the Tigers is done, so that's all I'm concerned with! | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/25/2007 4:15:00 PM | | They did a pretty good job making a nice team, overspent some though. I like Lilly, but $40 mill is crazy for a .500 pitcher, plus wrigley is a hitters park. Also overpayed Marquis (6.02 ERA), and INF Mark DeRosa (one yr wonder) got 3 yrs. I like getting Alfonso Soriano, and re signing 3B Ramirez, both got quite a bit but the markets nuts, so. Pretty strong club, we'll see if Prior comes back healthy, and Wood/Wade Miller, Prior would be huge loss. I think they have as good a chance as they ever did, lol. . | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/25/2007 4:47:04 PM | | its a shame that you have to pay so much just to get certain players to come play for your team. but i guess if it makes your fans happy and your club wins then it pays off. i really hope wood and prior can stay healthy for a change. if wood stays healthy and pitches like we know he can, he could be a huge threat out of that pen. marquis, i hope he can turn things around from when he was with the cardinals. but i guess we'll see how things go in about a week when they start playing games. | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/26/2007 8:34:17 AM | The Cubs are going to be interesting to see. With Soriano, Lee, Ramirez etc, they are going to mash and score runs in bunches. The question for them as with almost every other team will be the pitching. After Zambrano, who's a stud pitcher, who can the Cubs really count on. Lilly is serviceable. Thats about all you can say about him. You can't even call him an innings eater, as he has never even broke the 200 IP in his career. The Cubs have got to get something out of Prior and or Wood to be in the hunt, in my opinion.
Look for alot of high scoring games at Wrigley this year. Even more than usual!

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/26/2007 4:22:37 PM | | Well being a Stl. Cardinal fan the Cubs will finish second in the central. Hopefully, they will win the wild card. Meet Stl. in the NLCS. Go seven games with the cards winning on a walk-off pujols homerun. As much as i dislike the cubs i wish the rivalry was a little more like the sox and yanks. With both teams contending to the end. Good Luck in 07! | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/26/2007 4:27:03 PM | | Wait a second! Domer you changed your name. Oh well let's just talk a good game of baseball. Cool? | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/26/2007 6:35:37 PM | | that's exactly what i was intending, a new name and a fresh start. a lots happened in the past year and i've had a lot of things that i've had to make some changes to. but with that, i want to just talk baseball (not like i did last season) and have a good time. sorry about last season man, hope there's no hard feelings? | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 2/27/2007 5:00:39 AM | The Cubs will probably be like last year's Mets. They spent a lot of money and stocked up the clubhouse pretty well. They'll do really well during the regular season, but I don't know if they'll choke when they get to the playoffs.
They'll definitely give us a hard time. The Astros lost all of their pitching other than Roy Oswalt. All we had was pitching. Even with Carlos Lee, we're not going to do much without pitching. And Pettitte is gone, so Clemens isn't coming back.

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 3/6/2007 8:36:41 PM | | i just hope they can do better than last year. on paper they have one of the best teams in the NL maybe in the majors but still they have to show it on the field. this year should be more fun than last year was. | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 4/23/2007 7:33:30 PM | The team has got to stay healthy...please stay healthy. Lou wants a 12 man pen, intresting. Lets see what it does. and, am I the only one thinkin' whats with Soriano? Time to shine is comin' for him! | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 4/24/2007 5:08:22 PM | | I think I like the Cubs chances this year to win the World Series. Resigning Aramis Ramirez and getting Soriano and Derosa and Floyd and ramping the pitching staff with Marquis and Lilly along with Zambrano and Rich Hill and Wade Miller, I think the Cubs might make it to the World Series. Losing Prior and Wood is going to hurt them pretty good, but I think Hill and Lilly and Marquis can help Zambrano make this pitching staff one of the best in the league. The offense is going to be pretty explosive with the speed of Cesar and Soriano and the power of Soriano and Lee and Ramirez and possibly Derosa. | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 4/25/2007 5:29:30 AM | | There are far better teams in baseball for the Cubs to win. They'd have to get past the Braves, Dodgers, Mets, potentially Padres, Red Sox, Yankees, A's, Twins. | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 4/25/2007 8:54:18 PM | | coming from a diehard cards fan, I think the Cubs and Cards are in a battle for last place | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 5/7/2007 12:54:40 AM | | i know its only may but the cubs are on a hot streak right now. if they can play well on a consistent basis then i like they're chances of going all the way. | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 5/19/2007 11:45:46 PM | | yeah how about that? already winning the series against the south side. way to go DLEE! kiss my ass ozzie guillen! | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 5/27/2007 4:43:08 PM | | goddamn cubs, i see they choked yet again! if it were up to me i'd get rid of that entire bullpen. very unconsistant and unreliable. | |

| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 6/1/2007 1:49:38 PM | | When you have Pinella breaking up fights, what's the next step for this club? Feels like self destruction out there. | |
| 2007 chicago cubs Posted: 6/2/2007 2:25:28 AM | | to tell you the truth i have no idea what's next for them. this is as low as it gets when your "ace?" pitcher gets in a fight with your starting catcher and he has to get stitches for it. I know there's still 4 months of baseball to be played yet, but this team is 8 games below .500 and 8 games back in the division. they need to get it going now, and if they cant, well then i hate to say it but the season will be over before mid july. | |
