| | Does anyone know of successful PoF made relationships on PEI?Page 1 of 1 | Just idly wondering if PEI PoF has been successful for anyone? I know people who've met and short term dated someone from PoF but so far I haven't heard of any thing that has turned into a long term, successful match. Strange, really, because the Island is small and one is bound to hear about it.
Just wondering, I'm curious.
I've been out with a few but feel that I'm fishing in the wrong pond, for me anyway.

| Does anyone know of successful PoF made relationships on PEI? Posted: 2/25/2007 2:32:11 PM | None so far,,but then who would really know.. I doubt too many would want to be thought of as meeting on line..still seems to be stygma attatched to this genre .. if that is correct term to use.
I have no doubts that many people have met significant others here, and just didn't bother saying so. I know some names don't appear anymore , like to think they met with success, at least some of them.

Yah, the stygma is probably there but I'm wondering if eventually it wouldn't wear off because saying you picked someone up at the Velvet Underground sounds worse to me. (no I don't go there, and neither do my bright, intelligent children, they know better - I hope). Anyway, they've had better luck at finding age appropriate, nice love interests than their mama.

| Does anyone know of successful PoF made relationships on PEI? Posted: 3/4/2007 5:59:03 AM | | I've met alot of great people on this site, no real love connection. I am however talking to this great girl right now that is on here and we have openly discussed a possibility of starting a relationship. We will be meeting next weekend, so lets all cross our fingers and hope us the best. | |

Posted: 3/8/2007 9:48:22 AM | Always meant to come back and say that I do know a couple of people who got married to others they met on another dating site. Don't know if I can mention the site's name on here, so I won't. One marriage went south pretty fast and the other seems to have worked so far.

| Does anyone know of successful PoF made relationships on PEI? Posted: 3/16/2007 9:55:34 AM | Well, I am originally from the Island, living out West here in "oil rich" Alberta, and I had met a fellow Islander here....unfortunately it did not work out. He has some significant problems of his own to deal with, and did not disclose those things to me during our relationship.
I am always on the lookout for Maritimers here, and believe me, there are lots of us here; it seems as though about every 10th license plate here is a Maritime one. My old PEI plate gets a lot of stares still!! Nothing like Anne to get people talking.....silliest thing I ever heard was in the parking lot at Safeway, some smart-aleck said "Long way to come for a few groceries, isn't it??" haha
Also, I get a lot of "So, if you sleepwalk, do you fall off the Island?" Again, not so funny after I've heard it for the 20th time!!
I miss my Island, haven't been home for 10 years, hoping to get back in August for Old Home Week, bet a bit on the horses, see a few sights, eat a few (ok a LOT) lobsters.
Good luck to everyone searching for their "fishie".

Stigma????? Not at all!
I'm not sure about PEI, but in NB there have been quite a number of success stories, and the world wide mumbers are quite staggering too! This is a wonderful site for meeting friends and possible future 'significant-others' .
Why would anybody on here feel ashamed to let others know that they'd met a special one, and share their happiness with us all? IF you're not ashamed to be on here, you have nothing to be ashamed about in your success either. IF you are ashamed of being on here, well, that's different. I don't know how to address that issue, it never occured to me that anybody here would feel there was a stigma attached to POF.

| Does anyone know of successful PoF made relationships on PEI? Posted: 11/19/2011 8:35:27 PM | I am friends with a couple who met through POF in Nova Scotia rather than PEI but they are married now and three years later are still happily together.
This doesn't much help the OP but I like to think stories like it give the rest of us some hope that matches not only get made, but can last.
