Is it just or me or do a lot of girls says that they're match needs to like traveling in their profile? What do they mean? Travel to work, home, across the city, state, country, what? If a lot of people are like me, we don't have time for the latter few.

used to have that in my profiles.

i love travelling and going on holidays. Esentually i was seeking someone who wanted to travel with me and i found him.

since meeting my partner we have been to Vietnam, Thailand, and Samoa. Plus the many times we have crossed the nullabour here in Australia.

well then i guess you miss out on seeing some great countries, cultures and getting to do it someone special. Your a part time student. when dont you have time to travel? or is it that you can afford to travel?

everyone has hobbies or interests of some kind and if you dont like to travel or will not find the time to travel then i guess you find other interests you may have in common

I dont say my match needs to like traveling.
I personally love traveling to different cities, provinces, states and countries. Everyone deserves a trip away and opportunity to learn what this world has to offer. He might not have had any or much experience traveling. That's ok. Id like to share the experiences exploring and traveling places with someone... whether it be by bus, train, plane, driving.

It is on most women's profile.. Women are about experiences most men are about tangible practical things.

I have travelled to England, Jamaica etc. Not worth the hassle or the Montezuma's revenge

When you go to resorts they are filled with ladies and guys who play for the other team.

I love traveling. Meeting new people, seeing different parts of the world, new experiences. I think we all have an aspect of wonderlust in us, otherwise humanity wouldn't have populated the whole planet. I've travelled with a partner and on my own and both have good and bad aspects. If I meet someone I'd like them to know that I'm willing to experience new things, visit places I've not seen before, is that a bad thing? I'm not the type of person who goes on holiday and expects everything to be the same as it is back home, just hotter (there are a lot of Brits like that). Plus I might quite like to just take off for a couple of weeks or so to travel round a new country, if someone's not willing to come with me it's not much use is it?

People have hobbies.

To some, traveling is a hobby.

That's one of those things that I'd like to share with someone, but if that's not their thing, I absolutely don't mind going alone. I go on a vacation once a year by myself anyway, so any man I was with would have to learn to live with that.

My brother is not a traveler, and left to himself, would not go anywhere out of the area. But he is married to someone who likes to travel, and he loves going together, even to places like Atlantic City, which he normally can't stand.

I am the same way, except that I don't have a woman at this time. I would look at travel as not just about being somewhere else, it is about being somewhere else with someone special to me. Makes the experience that I don't normally like into a very enjoyable one.

Love this thread. I mention traveling on my profile, I live by the motto "have passport will travel". I've been to: Belize; Costa Rica; Bahamas; Holland; England; and Africa (solo). When I was married, we went on a cruise in the Caribbean.

Sooooo many of the men I've met "yeah, I love to travel", very few had passports. When I did some digging, their version of traveling was to the Mavericks/Cowboys games; NASCAR; to their parents; or the commute to the office.

I do look for a partner that is willing to travel. Trust me, I don't get the jet set as much as I want for 2 reasons: money and W-O-R-K. I like to take one nice trip a year, for me, its a stress reliever, and I enjoy getting out of the "bubble" environment of the good ol USA.

For me, traveling has always been a way of life. Now that I am working full-time at my end game career, the six month to three year jaunts around the world have come to a close, but I'll still take the traditional 2-3 weeks to hit up places like Moscow (this past Christmas), Ireland next month for a friend's wedding and Antarctica for a trip near the end of this year. I need a woman who has traveled, as we have more in common with our life experiences -- just as I prefer one who is college educated. And, of course, I am looking for one who will get on a plane and hurtle herself (with me:) out into the world to meet the people. Great way to live!

I would love to travel, but my salary is making it difficult. I have so many places on my dream travel list to go to. And I'm going to start hopefully next summer.

90% of the people in this world say they love traveling, but they don't make it a priority to do so. Conservatively, I have 100 friends who have told me they want to see the world and, so far, only 3 of them have actually done anything about it. While it is true, life can get in the way, it is so worthwhile to get out there and see the sights from different perspectives and cultures. I've been to over 70 countries and never made more than $50K in any given year up to now.

When you meet the man/woman of your dreams, go to these faraway places. Nothing like watching the sun set in Mykonos or gazing up at the stars in the Namib Desert with the strong like/love of your life:)

To me, that's what most women post it in profiles for - so that you know to expect her to take off at times and do so. You can join her or not, but basically it's letting you know that it's an interest for her in case you should date her and end up involved, you're not pissed off she went somewhere without you because you couldn't go or didn't want to.

I list bars and clubs as an interest (and as a job), not because I expect someone to like it as well, but so that they realize I do go to bars and clubs, and that it's an interest for me regardless of being single or not. They don't have to go, but they're better off understanding it when I do.

I can't speak for all women but as I am an expat and traveled around Europe and Africa for most of 2007, I feel it's an important part of who I am. I have been to about 100 cities in 10 countries throughout my life and I am not finished. So, it's important for any man who wants to know me, to know that this is something I do and don't seek anyone's approval to do it.

I would like nothing more to connect with a man who suffers ennui like me but if not, he should know, as several posters have stated above, I am prepared to go alone and don't have patience for anyone who whines about it.

Same here. I still have dreams of traveling, but it hasn't been financially possible while I'm back in school.

I would love to travel, but my salary is making it difficult.

I see that alot of in men's profiles too...I'm pretty sure it means either by plane, by train or by boat - otherwise its more of a roadtrip - no? You don't really think they mean travelling to work :) If this is not a part of your lifestyle then those aren't the people to look for or else you'll have to ask the individual what exactly is meant by travel...easy dilemma - Cheers!...:)

its a bit intimidating for me to see that in a blokes profile....

especially if there are pics of him half way up a ski slope or with the sydney opera house behind him

crikee, the best i can come up with for a couple of years is a week in blackpool

i stay away from them....

dunno what the ladies mean when they put it in their profiles. lucky sods obviously have it better than i do

I "Travel" for my job. Although it is only in the greater 48, It is still away from 'home'. I enjoy traveling just for the sake of seeing new places. My favorite places to travel to are close to home. It's refreshing to take the top off the Bronco and tool down a back country road, with the music down low, and good company...

Traveling to some may be just going outside of their circle, yet, to others, may be going somewhere in a different country. My job allows me to spend vast amounts of time in different places of my choosing. I love it!

If your job/lifestyle doesn't allow you to travel even short distances, make it a point one weekend, to get in the car/truck and go a few towns away and admire the beauty of the country!

I used to have in my profile that I would love to travel to Africa with my partner. I love to travel, and have been to Europe and many other African countries as well. When i travel with my partner, it`s memories that we build together, time that we spend together, love and experience we share.... I love to go away just for the weekend and spend time to walk in historic places, learn and discover, hold his hand, kiss, eat out, love before i came back to the every-day routine...

Amost every womens profile says I like to travel.. Most guys don't like to. There are a few exceptions but not many or why would Cruises and resorts be full of women.

If you are trying to attract a guy it isn't great bait to say I have seen X many cities and not done traveling etc. Major Turnoff

a lot of girls says that they're match needs to like traveling in their profile? What do they mean?

Funny reading the different responses.
To me it would mean weekends away together or annual holidays.
Just deciding offhand to pack up and go fishing, 4x4ing or do anything that changes the scenery. Variety is the spice of life and all that.

Never much thought of OS vacations, I guess because my idea of an extended holiday would be living with an African tribe or trekking through the Amazon as opposed to Europe.
Old buildings dont do it for me...totally diverse cultures do.

Travelingdave,

Wow, I read your post and couldn't agree more! I have forgone many material things in this life to travel. The experience of such no one or thing can take away. I have never regretted a trip that I've gone on, or the experiences I've had so doing. Even the bad experiences after time have given me a more positive perspective on myself and life.

I have travelled so much that now I seek to travel with friends and family. Getting them to commit is a whole new problem! I guess for those who don't make it a priority, it is hard for them to equate an experience with value for money. Which is really too bad for them.

I have had too many experiences where I was in such awe and wanted to turn to someone I love beside me and say, "Oh WOW!!! LOOK AT THAT!!!" as we both marvel at seeing something for the first time. I love experiencing firsts with people!

Ciao!

i love traveling. as in REALLY. i've been to a few European countries and here, and i would def prefer someone that's ready to go see Florence w me, and Africa, and the hubba bubba tribe in the jungle, the Mexican ziggurrats and so on.

so when i say TRAVEL i mean TRAVEL, and not to the bathroom :)))
