I often wonder why males of the human species do grow such beards if they wouldn't be shaved off as they now are. For millions of years the full length beards on men must have been the natural state of things for the human species. Just what is the natural selection that is going on that would have the human males grow such extravagances? Is there some deep natural attraction of the full length beards that makes it sexy for a man and make a woman want to have a child by a man who has one? And why is God most usually depicted as an old man with a full length beard and called "Father". | |

The woman may not have a say in the matter who the father was at that time. Maybe the full length beards were intimidating to the younger upstart males. | |

But then I was around bikers (as in old school) for many years as a child and as an adult so to me, a long beard on a man is very normal and if kept right sexy. | |
