| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/7/2007 1:51:59 PM | How do you look at photo on profiles? How closely do examine the profile? Are you taking notes.
Of course, looking at photos you can tell what the body type is. Particularly when you see the full-length photo. Difficult to hide the bulging thighs and caboose.
Of course, we all make our decisions on what's inside. Oh, of course. We're not superficial. Not one bit.

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/7/2007 2:13:52 PM | Frankly, I don't care if they say"prefer not to say" if they include a recent whole-body shot.
What ticks me off to no end is when I see a border-line obese person with average next to their picture. At the same time if a person is just a few extra pounds in their pictures but carries it well, I don't mind seeing Average. I think I fall into that boat : : lol

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/7/2007 2:57:44 PM | In today's world, with a lot of people not eating the right foods and with all the fast food places around, with everyone scurrying about in such a hurry to get nowhere at all, it is possible to say "average" and be spot on.. As everyone is either skinny or "a few extra pounds"! I'd like to see the admin put in a heightand weight box and make it a mandatory requirement to answer. It would discourage a lot of people from posting though.. I am 6' 3" tall and 235 lbs. Trouble is that MOST of it is in my middle and I don't drink beer.. When I see a profile with more than one "prefer not to say" answers included I just skip that one and go on to another one.. I don't really mind a little extra padding anyway... IT really IS what is inside that counts with me!! | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/7/2007 3:47:09 PM | | I'm one of those who put "Prefer not to say" in my profile, but I also put my size there so nobody can say I hide it. And if people don't pay attention and read well my profile that is their fault and not mine. | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/7/2007 5:44:13 PM | | I am a big robust woman and i carry it well and I have no problem saying so in my profile. I think people use the "prefer not to say" answer because they are not comfortable with themselves at this point in their lives. I dont understand dishonesty in saying "a few extra pounds" when they are #250!!! Like no one will notice??? lmao Just be upfront and honest in your profile and people will respond. | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 3/10/2007 6:05:28 AM | | Well I am very honest and upfront about the way I look.. I am a BBW and though a lot of men say it does not matter it really does to them. I look at it this way you can lose weight change your hair color even change the color of your eyes, but you can not change your heart and who you are truly inside. So if you prefer not to say your body type thats fine with me.. we are all indiviuals and have our preferences. | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 5/12/2007 9:08:21 AM | | ok,, this one is puzzling, is it prefer not to say because they are ashamed to say, or is it because they want you to know them intellectually as a person first, then spring it on you,, i think prefer not to say shouldnt be an option given,, its too misleading. | |
|
| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 5/21/2007 10:02:34 AM | Yeah I don't careif they don't say "prefer not to say" As long as they have recent shots. After all you can how the person is with a good shot. | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 10/30/2009 2:54:50 AM | Prefer not to say should not be an option at all. To me it's a cop-out.
If you're insecure about your body, do something about it or don't go out there looking.
Physicality is HUGE (pardon the pun) in 1st impressions.

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 10/30/2009 12:09:44 PM | I only wish that EVERY woman on PoF actually read the forums. I see so many disgruntled women that could have a much better online experience if they simply told the truth. Yes, you might not get as many emails, you might not get really good looking guys emailing you anymore BUT they might still message you. And if you were honest, they wouldn't date you once and then pull the friend card.
Yes, some people post recent pictures, some don't and quite frankly I have seen some absolutely stunning women from the shoulders up only to find the hips and backside REALLY large. On the other hand, I have seen some women who sell themselves short and pick a body type that is larger than what they really are.
Ladies, when choosing your body type. If you want to be honest and you want to maximize success, please read the following:
1. Prefer Not to Say - This equates to, I am not happy with my body type and I still want guys that are 'out of my league' to contact me.
2. Thin - Cameron Diaz is thin. http://www.funmunch.com/celebrities/actresses/cameron_diaz/cameron_diaz_2.shtml
3. Athletic - Venus and Serena Williams are athletic. http://rajster.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/serena_venus1.jpg
4. Average - Ellen Degeneres is average. http://www.tv.com/ellen-degeneres/person/20796/viewer.html?flag=&i=108&gri=20796&grti=104&tag=main;
5. A Few Extra Pounds - Queen Latifah is a 'Few Extra Pounds' http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/images/icons/portfolio/smith/04.jpg
6. Big & Tall/BBW - Roseanne Barr fits this category http://www.starpulse.com/Actresses/Barr,_Roseanne/gallery/CSH-044760/
Save yourself some heartache and hard feelings and just put an accurate description. And if you are BBW and you lift weights and run, and do a lot of sports, you are still BBW not Athletic.
You are who/what you are. You are not changing over night. Be honest and eventually you will find that person right for you. Start a courting off by being dishonest will end in disaster. Even if you are BBW, show a full body shot, some guys are attracted by your features. I have seen some smashing good looking women that weren't thin or athletic but when they claim to be athletic then I meet them and they are clearly BBW that tells me they will probably mislead me later in a relationship and yet they claim to be honest and open.
The most beautiful woman you will ever meet is a woman that has come to terms with their looks no matter which classification, and can flaunt it with confidence. Just be yourself no matter what, that is more beautiful than anything else you can do.

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 10/31/2009 8:22:06 AM | I agree with you 100%!!! I put that I am "a few extra pounds" and I am confident in where my body is at the moment, but am not where I would like to be so I am working on changing it. Beauty is from the heart and soul; if a person is confident in who they are that speaks volumes! Honesty about yourself is what people appreciate. So, to all of you who "prefer not to say" ... take a chance and be proud of who you are... put it out there honestly and you will get so many more responses. | |

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/1/2009 12:21:06 AM | Hi everyone; 1st time writting something in here sooo about that subject I put " prefer not to say" but I have no hang up about my body & I don't consider myself obese everyone's different & have a different opinion of what they consider big or small | |
|
| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/3/2009 9:47:22 AM | | You are right, but I guarantee many mean pass your site because you have 'prefer not to say'. That is one of the quickest ways for guys to not spend more than 1 second looking at your profile. Good luck with it, I hope the right guy stays long enough to read your entire profile. | |
|
| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/3/2009 1:17:48 PM | Yeah, it's not how you feel, it's what you think the opposite sex will notice.
I'd rather see "average" or "slightly overweight" than nothing at all, especially if you only have a face pic. 1st impressions mean a lot, especially online where people will not give a 2nd thought to just passing when they see one wrong thing in a profile. "Online fickleness" is what I call it. It has happened to me. Not fair, but that's the way it is unfortunately.

| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/3/2009 3:23:35 PM | "I have seen some absolutely stunning women from the shoulders up only to find the hips and backside REALLY large."
Potentially a pleasant surprise in my book . . . well, if it's more from the waist down anyway.
|
| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/11/2009 7:21:34 AM | i like the song baby got back but i don't care for that woman physically.
i prefer skinny and boney with a huge rack of heavy boobs.
|
| Body Type -- Prefer Not to say Posted: 11/17/2009 5:03:23 AM | True dat, You are a smart man and maybe some women will read instead of try to trick and waste time to get a free dinner. Probably why they are on this site to beging with??? | |
