| Transcend Posted: 3/7/2007 10:38:54 PM | Hey All, Recently joined POF and thought I'd post in this forum for my first post. Look forward to getting to know everyone.
Transcend
Like rolling hills, Through which my eyes see the dark light, Runs the destiny of my ubiquitous future's flight,
And in my mind's eye, I see a world of wonders and peril, And in the darkness of reality is quite sterile,
Thought becomes the notion of one's weapon against the reality, And in the end, Can transcend or cause their own mortality,
For the heart is a beast of many strings, That bind the spirit of its own glorious wings........
But before the darkness, Are the hills, Windy, perpetual, magnificent mountains of the will,
Through these winds my spirit takes flight, With the other strings fastened aboard an unrestrained kite,
Though the heart IS a beast of many strings, My mind's eye can transcend these implacable things.
For this is my nature................

| Transcend Posted: 3/7/2007 11:21:11 PM | I must say i really like your poem, thanks for sharing i'd like to add one if i may....
i'll take that as a yes *smiles*
Transcendent masters sit on mountains high We must look up to attain such splendor Such is the life of a peaceful warrior Sitting at the bottom dodging the boulders that ensue, Masters words i listen too Though they didn't resonate i did peruse The journey's peril with only a digeri du I didn't see his words as they came to and fro And though he had my heart with his intent How could i attain such peace when all strife results
So i sit at the bottom of the mountain Lovers hand in mine we begin too see The splendor of the setting sun Is much better from where we sit We can simply be and love free We have transcended the need to be And opted to be all that we can when we can And Love each other more in the times When being is suffering thinking we are not Who we are meant to be
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/7/2007 11:51:14 PM | Ascended guru sits up high Upon his lofty mountain top Watches with an ancient eye All it is that we can't stop Our suffering The pain, the strife Our struggling Trying to lead a better life
Aspiring to be more As we see how we could be Better than before But in trying we don't see We don't need to fight But can simply be To be human is right Accepting this sets us free
So we sit and if some time I feel I'm not enough And if I start to try to climb When things around get rough Please remind me that the view Of mountains grand and tall Is better shared here with you Where we can never fall
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/7/2007 11:57:56 PM | I walk upon the waters surface. Looking back at what has come to pass and looking at what is to be. the paths before me diverge. And the blood which flows through them seems unmoved by my presence.
It is in this mental state i come to see those who love me and those who need me. It is in this mental state that i can see that it is you who wants me. It is in this mental state that I transcend.
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:00:58 AM | This much i know Enough You are for more We have not arrived at Climb if you must But know this my dear My hand will be in yours as you walk And will hold you when times are rough I will point to the sunset And we will gaze together I will turn and look into your eyes And remind you Your splendor is greater then all We will never fall For it will never go that far Your heart is in mine And mine in yours Every breath is counted Every heart beat known And my arms will always catch you And hold you within | |

| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:10:26 AM | I really like the use of imagery and metaphor of the teacher sitting on top of the mountain in some of these poems. What a visual. I guess mountains are just really strong images that brings forth many different but powerful emotions.
Water as well.
This is becoming quite the transcendent thread.
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:17:26 AM | Oh most definitely.
When writing poetry we are laying our thoughts down at a particular time. In 20 years i will read this and say oh how much time i wasted when i could have been studying chemistry.
but at this moment in time. the seconds stop ticking and for once. I have transcended.

| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:25:39 AM | ^^^^
"I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." Einstein.
Don't undervalue your poetic expression. *smiles*
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:38:00 AM | Yea... but im not einstein.
:D
to be honest i dont undervalue my writings. I just believe that these words will have a different meaning to me in 20 years.
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/8/2007 12:48:48 AM | Words are merely containers to express what we think and feel, and even as you write the meaning has changed for those who read. We can never truly capture our essence on pages. Nor can one know who we truly are by reading a few lines. I have a poem i wrote when i was twenty and i always revisit it and write a story to go along with it, as my life changes. But the poem in its self captures something that will never change...
I've heard it said before that under hypnosis we can draw like Leonardo Da vinci just by suggestion. Think about that for a moment... Could it be the whole is contained within us all? Just like words contain more then letters.

|
| Transcend Posted: 3/9/2007 11:35:17 PM | | more so transcendental. | |
|
| Transcend Posted: 3/10/2007 12:01:23 AM | transcend this The very act of thinking We have lost the moment To experience Independent And pure Can we loose all attachment to thought What would be??? Would we feel anything? Would we see something different Thoughts, filters, seeing nothing new The very thought to not think Even a thought Pure emotion as every cell awakes Simple awareness of every movement 108 movements without thought of any Where did i go or did i go Surely i was here but for a moment Awareness shifted to something else Detachment from thought In my body i dwelled Temple of silence Humming and resonating For a moment i was free Now that is something new | |

| Transcend Posted: 3/10/2007 12:18:55 AM | As In
The multitude of fluid beads that drip of flames that drop. The slow of molten sea shell glazes. Forever a drizzle of strings.... of silver..... of treasured trinkets.
An everlasting luminescent ocean foamgreen as settled dew upon the cusp.
Of mine heart.
Time a perforated seawall echos forth and back and forth again.

| Transcend Posted: 3/10/2007 12:38:55 AM | I think I have an idea, but will need a little more insight on that last one glasstemple on the transcendent nature of your poem

|
| Transcend Posted: 3/10/2007 12:45:46 AM | ideas and insight are a perspective.....development of a transcendental element are always mystic by nature...thought...inspiration are to me... 'of duality' and ' space and time'.... ... I hope this exudes some of that....N. | |

| Untitled Posted: 3/10/2007 1:54:12 AM | Great poetry coontributions from everyone. Thought I would throw my hat in the ring...
After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. And you learn that love does not mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses are not contracts, and presents are not promises. And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child. And you learn to build all your own roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain, and futures have a way of falling down in midlight. After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure.... And you really are strong..... That you really do have worth..... And you learn, And learn, With every goodbye....you learn
|
| Untitled Posted: 3/10/2007 2:33:59 AM | Transcendance of not only time but of place. I sit alone in the shadow of my past that long and lonesome road. As the evergreen trees finally after so long shed their skin and reveal the ravishly raunchy revelation that they too are soul less.
Just like humanity through time and eventualities have lost thought of meaning. and most of all have lost love. And the evidence that flowed within my veins of a soul which long did exist is stripped bare and gone with what we call normality.
Normality a simple average of all that is unique in an attempt to justify the means of the pathetic human race. Insecurities flow through the mind of every human but it is those who are insecure about our survival that will truely reach metaphysical.
|
| Untitled Posted: 3/10/2007 4:34:35 AM | I like that: "Normality a simple average of all that is unique".
Everyone says "try" Try, try and try again And if you don't succeed Then try, try, try again
Trying to learn, trying to earn Aiming for success To make our parents proud Losing track of happiness
Perfectionist exhausted Trying in every way To be better, stronger, wiser Pushing yourself every day
Don't even try to understand Take my hand and walk with me Don't try not to try Just fail to try and simply be

| Untitled Posted: 3/11/2007 1:38:44 AM | | So many late night poets. I guess creativity and insomnia go hand in hand :) | |
