I get odd responses to my profile

I mostly get women complimenting me on my profile and the occassional man saying they like the wit. But nothing else progresses past the initial contact.

Not sure if I need cut my profile down.

Advice please. I've been on POF for a while, about a year now.

Thanks bunches!

Your pictures are "cute"... not serious. I'm not sure what you are wanting them to say - perhaps some more variety would be a good thing. Show the different sides of you.

The first few paragraphs of your About Me are rather negative. When you first meet somebody, would you say - "I don't like long email exchanges"? It's rather abrupt. Either move it to the end of your profile, or get rid of it entirely. Plus that sentence is very hard to read, it needs a re-write if you decide to keep it.

If you do manage to wrangle my phone number from me, please be advised, I will not pick up if you show up as "private". Yup, I screen my calls.

I haven't had much luck on PoF so I am rather suspicious... So at the moment I'll just say that I am looking to make new friends.

These two lines seem very defensive. Again, I'd just get rid of them. You can either share that info when you get to the message stage with somebody, or just keep those thoughts in your head.

Not sure what to say. Love me? I am a short, plump, red haired wench sharing her living space with an emotionally demanding cat and a semi-suicidal bamboo plant.

I'd get rid of the first two sentences, but I love the "emotionally demanding cat and a semi-suicidal bamboo plant" line. Very good!

The rest is very good, you've done a great job of describing yourself and giving an impression of what it would be like to spend some time with you. I think you sound very interesting and fun.

Get rid of the rocky beginning and I think you've got a winner.

okey dokey, I've changed it a bit, and added some more pics - from my various holidays.

How does it look?

Your primary photo is the best, I'd remove the rest.

I like what you've written!! You sound like a lot of fun and have a good outlook on life. The only thing that doesn't jive is that is sounds like you haven't "settled down", and yet you want children? You don't talk much about making a nest for a family (I know that might sound a little weird, but you're a little quirky!) - what is it about having a family that you'd like? My guess is that there is someone out there for you, and you're not going to be happy with a run-of-the-mill kind of guy. You'll need to go somewhere like the Philosophy Cafe here in Victoria, or to somewhere like Salt Spring Island. Maybe that's where you need to make your next trek to, to find a kindred soul!! Put more in about aspects of your life other than being adventurous, and that will do the trick, although I don't really think the type of person you're wanting to meet would be on this relationship site - he'll be taking a different path. Make it so that yours cross. All the best. Realist

I've adjusted it a little.

I know I don't look at the camera in most of my shots... I call it a fear of the flash bulb :-)

I believe you are correct Realist, with regards to my chances here. The people on POF is generally very lovely people and I have met some warm hearted individuals. But I think my own personal interests are a bit too quirky. I need a well employeed hippy artist with a penchant for traveling, and doesn't feel neglected if I happen to be doing some overtime.
