Posted: 3/23/2007 2:37:31 AM | I was wondering, where priests outcasts of the love world and thats why they becamse priests or visaversa, because my priest said he had, and the pope did too, (John Paul that is)???
One day when the priest came to see us in school, he use to always talk to us just in case we where thinking about becomeing nuns. he would say live your life before you ever become a priest or nun, he said he once fell in love, and traveled the world, and went to disco's and had a bit of a laugh too, but there are some priests who you look at and say to yourself, wow do them guys ever have a bit of fun, or have they ever had a bit of fun. One of the greatest things on my mind are, Are They Virgins????
and is that why some bad priest that we hear of are abusing children, because the've realized they can't go that way with women, and are using kids, but would you say once they had a life!!?? | |

That being said, as it just was, the thing that freaks me out about priests is that none of them are celebate. Not one.
They have wet dreams. All men do if they're not getting any and not choking the chicken on a regular basis.
Even the Pope had them.
The more important question to me is what kind of underwear do they wear? Boxers? briefs? Thongs?

Posted: 3/23/2007 6:12:08 AM | No. Since the priesthood contains more than simply heterosexuals (it contains homosexuals, asexuals, people with pedophilia, etc) not all had girlfriends prior to entering the priesthood.
BTW, "celebate" traditionally means "unmarried", though it's often used in a modern context interchangeably with "chaste" which means "no sex" and is closer to what you wanted to say (though even chastity doesn't disallow wet dreams (which not eveyone has, I don't) nor (usually) masturbation). | |

the priesthood ought to be a "calling" for those who genuinely wanna "serve" without ulterior motives or previous relationship history.
unfortunately, because it does not allow marriage, it has been used as a refuge for many pedophiles and other deviates who hide in its privileged confines. | |

Posted: 3/23/2007 11:48:28 AM | My buddy's dad was studying to become a priest, and my old Chrisitan Tradition instructor at college was once a priest. My buddy's dad decided the whole "can't have sex" thing wasn't worth it, and my former instructor ended up dating a nun and withdrew from their positions to form one of their own. ;)
I would assume pretty much all priests (the non-gay ones) had a girlfriend at one time, whether it be high school or early college. Priests aren't required to be virgins, although I'm sure more 'honor' is given to those who are entering into the priesthood.
A lot of priests, from what I'm told, do 'make mistakes'. They'll have psuedo-girlfriends (see 'Talk/Email' or 'Friends' in one's profile instead of the other choices)... but they can't have sex or obviously get married. And I would imagine a lot of priests have had sexual relations at one time or another while they've been a priest, but obviously aren't going to announce every mistake they've made to their congregation.
A lot of priests ARE NOT prudes, either. Since they can't have sex, they have their fun. In college, a buddy of mine's priest came to the bar, and had body-shots done on him by some hot chicks who were working there. | |
