This is nothing like the city. In the city you see power mixed couples,both of them are good looking and both carry well paying jobs. Over here you see Low class trailer park white women with tore up negroes all the time. I dont want that,I want what the white dudes want,keep them rejects. I come from class and wont be un equally matched up.
Right now the white girls are holding it down as far as the best bodies,it used to be the sisters,but now a lot of the sisiters has mistaken flab for fine.The sisters arent working out or staying active like they should. So, give me a white woman anyday but not the ones that routinely date blacks,give me one that i can bring somewhere.
La is bullshit on interracial dating.And i dont want my lighter skinned sister knowing more rap tunes than i do,give me a little of both cultures. | |

Here, it seems to be as you say, the no-goods being with the no-go0ds. Now, ladies, please pay attention to what I'm saying and not read into anything else. The no-good on both sides or even oriental, Native American, etc. Black guy out of prison gets white girl who does not finish high school. Both are more interested in smoking pot and using drugs than an education or a higher paying job. Other areas, both are professionals or both hold down jobs and both have high morals in society. Again, I've noticied it more in this area than others.
Years ago, I got kinda upset because I could not get a date with the girl I wanted. She did not date anybody that was not black. Well, I got upset and took me some time to realize that if the old laws were still in effect, she'd have to date me and might end up with me for a long time and never really be happy. So, I stepped back and let her be happy and find what she wanted.
I'm all for people finding that person they are looking for. That's what we're all here for. Good luck. | |

So I no longer see interacial relationships as a problem in larger southern cities. I am not quite sure about Louisiana. I do believe he's out there for you Op, you just have to learn your way around! I see a lot of black men looking for white women, you just have to be patient. Be careful!
I personally would like to grow old with someone who would love me, and accept me. I don't care what color, a man is a man.

I can go either way as far as color is concerned, but down here I feel pigeon holed into one race only or else I can put on a noose for a necktie, chew on a long piece of straw, goose step all over and put a bullseye on the back of my head. I just want to be me and my partner to be herself. I feel though that the old rules and old school is still very much in effect here. I love how we preach to one another that you can't judge a book by it's cover, but in the same breath say just make damn sure the colors match! | |

i agree with him.....and because we went to school together, he knows my whole stance on interracial dating. my problem is i tend to date mostly white guys (lots of factors) and it's hard not only to date a guy like that down here, but to FIND a guy. the whole concept of the southern belle, with blonde hair and blue eyes, is RAMPANT down here. i've had guys immediately pass on dating me yet want to be friends because they have these idiotic false stereotypes of black/brown women in their heads. very frustrating. not just older generations, but a majority of the college-aged like me. | |

Posted: 3/10/2008 1:20:37 AM | I have to agree on the whole IR dating in BatonRouge. I haven't dated a black man in years. Not because I didn't want to but because I refuse to date a racist. Just like I won't date a white man who is racist, neither will I date a black man who is one.
Of course chances are they won't be wanting to date me either but that's besides the point. In fact, on dating in BR in general, I was very close to throwing in the towel altogether!
There are tons of racist black men in BR that are against IR relationships when the woman is black and dating a white guy. I am tired of trying to filter them out from the non-racists. I much prefer black men from any other state than La.
I tend to have alot of long distance relationships because of this dilemma. My problem is not attracting and dating an upstanding white guy but maintaining the relationship.
No matter how good it's going down here, it's only a matter of time before other people start interfering and he gets either mistreated by his fellow white brothers and sisters or harassed by blacks.
I guess I have this unrealistic belief that a man should be a man and not be so weak and fearful but I suppose non-verbal silent threats carry alot of weight.
All in all, this place sucks and is backwards as all hell in general. Being an IR dater just adds to the misery.
OP, keep dating WHO you like. Don't let other people's bigotry stop you from enjoying your own life. There's probably a lovely black man with his eyes on you that may be thinking the same thing that you do and not sure if you date IR.
If people know you are IR-friendly then more guys will approach you but be careful you don't want the wrong kind of attention from the wrong people.
Just casually mention your ex-boyfriend resembling (famous black celebrity) or taking you to (famous black-sponsored banquet) and you're sure to get some eyes in your direction. Just be careful not to fall for one that wants you for the wrong reason and be ready to put up with passing sneers & nasty rumors from people who don't agree with you (ALSO LOOK OUT FOR HATERS THAT WANT TO PULL YOU BACK TO THEIR SIDE).
But you know what? Dealing with their BS is worth it. Because their opinions and rumors have no weight especially in comparison to the bliss you get from finally meeting Mr.Right.

Deep in the heart of Cajun country, there was not as many problems. We accepted the change in the laws and such. It seems that the northern and eastern part of this state still does not want to accept the fact that we are in a different time and want to keep it the way it was in the 1950's. Well, they are free (freedom of speech) to say what they want, but, are not free to do anything else but speak. People need to do their research and find out what the term "Creole" means. The people that came from Europe to this land in the 1500's and 1600's took Native American wives. The people that landed in the New Orleans area also mixed with islanders and Africans. I'm part Native American. Years ago, I guess my ggrandfather was a "half-breed". We won't see it in our time, but, years from now, there will be no race except the human race. Fact is that we fail to realize that many nationalities have already mixed and it will continue. | |
