| Music Venues Posted: 4/4/2007 12:18:21 PM | I don't know how many people who check this are fans of the alternative rock style, but I am. And I wanted to put this up on the forums in case anyone is interested in starting a bit more focus in music on the coast region, or all of Mississippi for that matter.
As many of you all know, the coast is overlooked by a lot of bands, and it takes a lot of work to get a band to even think about coming to the region. That was close to changing with the Hard Rock when Velvet Revolver was scheduled to open the place. Katrina and all her kindness changed that. But there's hope.

A friend just showed me this and asked me to register for a CoF show in the region (which I'll admit, I did request, and hope it happens). But I wanted to show this site to you all. Let's start putting together requests for our favorite groups, support each other, and try to put the coast on the map as a great venue for bands. A SLEW of bands and artists already requested; The beach boys, Blake Shelton, Michael Flatley, Tim McGraw, Jack Ingram, and Faith Hill just to name some requested on the coast.
So I ask you to support this attempt. Support the coast by requesting bands and making Gulfport/Biloxi region a spot to hit on any band's tour.
And in hopes that this isn't against rules either.... could I start by requesting support for my own "demand it" page.... +44

That's what started my desire to write this. Realizing how easy it was to request my favorite band to show up; we could see anyone imaginable. If you start a "demand" then post the link on this thread and we can all demand for one another.
After a moment of thought. If anyone finds this posts against the rules, I ask you just reply to let me know and I will take it down. I personally don't think this is against them, unless someone says I'm trying to advertise for eventful. If you feel I'm "billboarding" just say so, and I'll remove my post and appologize, but I do not wish my account deleted for trying to make the coast a better scene. I mean, come on, we're here to meet people, similar music interests are a start, and concerts are a nice place to go on a date. It makes sense to ask support on all this here. | |
