Once in awhile, I'll see a lady's profile with a pic of guy with arm around her. Clue # 1: If your looking for a guy, don't have a pic of one in your profile. Clue # 2: If you must have the pic of a guy in your profile, let us know who he is (dad, brother, friend, ex..). Clue #3: If the face is cropped off, but there's still a guy's arm around you (the give away, hairy arm)...could be a clue that its an old pic with ex. Just like women seeing guys with chicks in their profile, its equally a turn-off to guys...well, at least to me.

How about we edit our profiles to our specifications, and you can edit yours to thine own?
Live and let live, yes? Sound good?
If you don't want to contact someone based on the appearance of a male in one of their photos, that's your prerogative.

I have wondered this with some guys profiles.. they have photoshopped the girl out.. but you can still see her arm, part of her hair, whatever...do these people not have a photo of themselves without anyone else in it? Maybe its time to take a few...

or I agree with explain who the person is...

Hows this for an odd picture. A guy on here, is looking for a long-term. He is divorced.
He has a wedding picture of him and his ex on the site. Wedding gown, tux, the whole bit.
How odd, yea, sure he is going to get alot of e-mails.
Maybe asking him, "What are you thinking?" LOL

I kid you not !

This was a perfect opportunity for you to point out someones shortcomings and either talk about them behind their back or to their face! You decided to be morally correct and righteous ...cursing the whole thread.

OP, live and let live...and never assume. One gets nowhere without getting the facts first. What you assume to be the arm of an ex might be the arm of a relative or friend, and the postee shouldn't have to explain anything to anyone, but they will most likely answer if nicely asked. But if they're on here saying they're single and looking to date, who cares if they posted a picture of what they really look like and it has someone's arm, or someone else, in it? Frankly, I'd much rather see a natural, smiling picture with an arm around their shoulder, or another person in it, than some of the squinty, too serious, even scary, mug shots some people post.

Well wedding pics are one thing.....but just a pic of a guy/girl???

I would imagine you are a pretty jealous person in life. That's what I personally get from your thread......jmo

When I see a pic of a woman in someone's profile I don't think anything--could be anybody...

<div class='quote'> If your looking for a guy, don't have a pic of one in your profile.

In fact pretend you haven't had contact with a man in years.....and no men friends either.....just be totally manless....just list nun under your profession....sheesh cmon....

That would just scare me right away from you.

Just because a woman has a pic of a man in her profile it doesn't mean she doing him or ever did him....you make me feel smothered and I don't even know you.....

gasping-trying to breathe....

EDIT....ok this was taken from one of your other threads I read.....damn I was right on the money

If a woman needs other guys for friends, she is still looking...the way I see it.

Yep that scares the sheet out of me.

I refuse to qualify my moniker based on your reaction to ONE post I've made. Mayhaps you should read a bunch before you make a sweeping statement like that...especially on a public forum where not doing so invalidates your argument.

Why would one wish to talk about someone's shortcomings behind their back? This would make them gossip-mongers (and not advocates) would it not? Furthermore, my statement was my opinion - an opinion I'm entitled to regardless of my nickname. If the OP didn't want to chance negative responses, he shouldn't have posted anything. That said, I'd ask whether or not it is more "morally correct" and "righteous" to argue for individual liberty than to tell people what kind of photos to put up on THEIR profiles. Seems to me that the latter would be more righteous-sounding, n'est-ce pas?

That said, I maintain my previous post.
Live and let live.

i totally agree, a woman should not use pictures of herself with her ex, its totally disrespectful and degrading to her next guy in line

Why should we have to explain who it is in the pic? If they are cropped out, who cares? They are "out of the picture". Mine happens to be a good, natural pic of me. It was at a concert. I think people just look for reasons to pick profiles apart. If you are interested in the person and they are listed as single and are looking, are you going to let a picture make you decide not to contact them? The past is the past. Atleast the person has a pic!!!!!! It does not offend me one bit if a guy has a pic of him with a female. if she is cropped out. It is not like they are showing the person's face and asking you to compare yourself to them.

If I had to chose between a guy who posted a pic with his ex, or a guy who uses poor grammar, I'd take the former.

I'd say it's more disrespectful to assume that the other person is their ex...And if a man/woman can feel 'degraded' by seeing a picture of someone they're interested in, in a picture with anyone else, including an ex, then that man/woman must have very little self-esteem.

Excellent point, lol! Add in poor spelling (not typos), or slang spelling (whut, ur, u, etc.) too.
