| Cross Border Bargain Huntin' Posted: 4/22/2005 9:28:09 PM | Yes I was the token pack mule for my g/f and Aunt's shopping venture today to up-state New York...Trust me I was a real trooper, and actually enjoyed some of the diffferent stores.grunt*
I did notice that, even with the exchange rate ,some prices were a lot cheaper, but for the most part they were similiar or negligible, especially at the box stores like Pay less, Sears..etc.
What got me, was that in Canada we are deprived on variety on such items as my perenial fave "Hamburger Helper"...As a matter of fact,it seemed like as far as processed or frozen prepared foods there is a "big time" difference in variety...I always thought that we had all the classic varieties of "Hamburger Helper such as stogonoff, lasagna . etc. covered, but holy shyt...I came back with such items as "Philly Cheese Steak", and "Chicken Quesidilla" which I have never seen here...Because I love the stuff, I noticed... I'm crying foul!! ..(Hamburger helper was the same price as over here btw..lol) Well at least we never got nailed for duty at the border though and I got my new gut rot helper, so all is good.
If anyone cares...(Seemed like a current event topic) | |
