I can't keep up with our wonderful Admin. Noticed another new feature and that is below a picture on the profile is this statement "Report Image As Not Human", which I like.
I like all the different changes.

.....We are not permitted to show our pets anymore, which is acceptable, however we ARE allowed to show our children on site.....doesn't make sense. It's exploiting children who don't have any choice if mummy or daddy choose to place their child's picture on a dating site. Hopefully this will be the next move.

As far as I understand the new rule, the user should be in the photo. Ie. User with children, User w (whatever), and a head shot at minimum.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Just to further clarify the point.

Would an unacceptable photo be one that is also someone's backside, torso, eyeballs. and/ or any variation that does not include a headshot/faceshot at minimum.?

rotflmao!!

Did you people choose that particular phrase yourself, or did you have help from a comedian?

That feature is gonna be SO abused.

This is a bad bad idea. What were you people thinking?

I can see it now: Ew! not human. Bovine. ""click""

Take note of what it says when you are about to click on that button

Reporting users just because you don't like them or have silly disputes with them will result in your account being deleted.

Only report this image if it does not contain a person.

let's just see how much abuse goes on .......

anyone, anyone .......

Let's look at it this way

It's a dating site and I'm going to make a leap of faith that people will want to know what you look like. If I'm going to see someone, I'd pretty much like to see what they look like. I can't really walk into a restaurant or where ever and hand the maitre'd a picture of an "eyeball" or a headless torso and ask them

"Have you seen this eyeball, or headless torso, per chance? "

"ahh - oui monsieur, zee eyeball ees at table 5"

catch the drift of what a picture should be on a dating site?

as per the image upload page, and in the spirit of a dating site without listing 500 exceptions,

ALL pictures MUST contain you in it with a visible head shot at minimum

admin did also say above

The main point is that the main picture should be a picture of the user.

I don't understand!
My main pic is of myself. And are five others. If I want to post one or two pics of my pets what is the problem. I have seen many pics of landscapes, cars, peoples body's, Children, and of course pets.
They are part of who we are.
I would never dream of abusing something like this but I know there people out there who would.

I have my red sox jersey as my main pic at the moment, but have several headshots on my profile. Is this acceptable or should i be changing it?

from the Image Upload Page you'll note the following:

ALL pictures MUST contain you in it with a visible head shot at minimum

if it doesn't follow the minimum, consider a headless shot not valid

thank you, much better

1) This reporting rule centres around your "MAIN" image. - hence you're fine.

2) All other pics should contain you as per the instructions on the Image Upload Page. If you've seen many other pics - admin is the only one that handles profiles, and in time, you may put your pic upload privilege at risk.

see --> FAQ - Pictures deleted? - Can't upload pictures? - No Browse Button?

in the main FAQ thread at the top of this forum

OK. your site your rules. I will remove them.
But for the record I think that this not a good move on your part.
These pets are part of us and who we are. It can also help in people connect with other pet lovers.
If the picture is tasteful and and unoffensive I really don't see the problem.
I do think you should reconsider this idea.

I have a pic of my beloved Lucas on my profile. He's front and center, and I'm the funny looking one to the right of him!

You can still post them, but why not join them!

I guess I should start a profile for my cat. There would be a head shot in the main pic.
But if she put a pic of me up would it get deleted?

An image can draw a person into a profile. It's also what made POF different than other dating sites and was part of POF's charm.

Please administration, please reconsider. If it ain't broke.....

*scratches her head*

Its not a new rule lepip, he just found a new way to get us to report violations. In case someone somehow missed the big bold lettering making it clear that the pic must have a recognizable headshot when uploading.

Once one has read the several threads on this subject and the actual rules on this, it begins to make sense, even to some of us that didn't get it at first.

Users were begging for a filter to block those without pics. How could that filter have a hope of being useful if someone with a pic of their car can get through it?

I agree 100 percent that the MAIN picture should always be of the person.

I also am happy to read thats the goals of admin.

I don't know, but my main image was tied in with what was written on my profile which had pics of me if you clicked on it...

Also, my animal companion is part of my 'family'.
