| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 2:40:41 PM | You can now report a persons main picture if it doesn't meet guidelines. The main picture has to include a persons face.
This will start to make the "Only allow users with images to message me" restriction useful. And perhaps a image only search.
Use the report profile link to report users who have a proper main picture but the rest are cartoons or joke pictures. Time and time again i've seen that those kind of users have absolutely no interest in using the site as a dating site. Also be sure to report all shirtless guys missing a head. A good 70% of those photo's are fake.
Do you like the fact only main pictures must be a head shot?

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 2:56:24 PM | GREAT IDEA! There are way too many users with fake pics, with fake profiles, or pics that are copyright such as actors, stars and celebs... I am getting sick and tired of the users using pics that arent theirs. This moderator should delete and BLOCK those users 4 life!!! Block the IP do whatever you have to do but Dont allow the user to ever come back here if they use fake photos. | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 2:56:32 PM | Haha...it already happened to me. I had a pic of my crossed legs up as my main pic. It was deleted. At least it WAS me, or part of me. I felt a sudden (and luckily diminishing) urge to rush around reporting all the other legs, feet, eyeballs, torsoes, etc. But I resisted for 1.2 seconds until the urge passed.
Edit: To Jaitizauvjek...this isn't going to do anything about the fake profiles, or the people who post pics of others. It just gets rid of the pics many forum posters use as their main pic that doesn't include their face.

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:04:33 PM | | I am glad of it. It was getting pretty tiring seeing some of the scenery and cartoons that some where using as a main pic. | |
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:06:16 PM | Kudo's to you. I hope this includes not to have pics of people's eyeballs, legs, boots, breasts, feet, far away pics, etc,,,,, It was pretty stupid and I don't thing these are serious people either. | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:07:07 PM | Hiya Moderator:
Your message is a little ambiguous. The first sentence says that the main picture must have a face (which is fair enough) but the fourth sentence says that the profile has a 'main picture' but the rest are cartoons.
Does this mean that only the main pic has to have a face and others can 'be anything' or do 'all' the pictures have to have a face as 'part' of the pic?
Regards... | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:11:07 PM | LOL...Senuass...you know you're going to get reported now. All the whiners about the main pic not being your mug are gnashing their teeth and slapping the report button as I type this.
While you're at it Admin, let's get rid of those grainy a** main images where you can't tell if the person is 18 or 80.

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:21:36 PM | I think it makes sense personally. It's rather annoying to have someone's body parts staring you in the face when you're browsing profiles. I don't have anything against people having up no profile pic honestly, but if you're going to have one it should be YOU not something else. | |

Time and time again i've seen that those kind of users have absolutely no interest in using the site as a dating site. ...then why do we have the option of "single/not looking" and "friends" ???
I will remain pictureless.
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:25:24 PM | If I may play devil's advocate... if you are going to set standards for the main picture why not require it to be a full body picture, standing OR seated,. That way we get rid of SOME of the complaints about head shots not revealing obesity, missing limbs, wheelchairs, whatever. I'm sure dishonest members who want to conceal such issues will probably find a way to get around it... Just a thought and believe it or not I've heard other members say pretty much the same thing in the forums. Cindy O | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:33:26 PM | Just to clarify:
The main picture has to be a clear headshot but other pictures can be of body parts, scenery, or animals, correct?
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:46:14 PM | | If you have a dog, it can be your 3rd or 4th picture. Just the main picture has to be a headshot of you. how come all my dog pic were deleted off my profile then?> plus I think some of the pictuers with body parts hanging out should be deleted | |
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:48:23 PM | | If I have to manually review a profile because someone didn't follow the rules and have a headshot as the main picture I'm going to delete everything that doesn't include a person's face. | |
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:48:54 PM | I agree S sweet. I don't like looking at boobies. And if boobies (minus the tips) are acceptable, then the men should be able to show a portion of their willies, minus the tips of course! Fair is fair. | |
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:48:55 PM | I hate the idea ... It's a form of censorship! Just like the other commercial sites, I don't like my personal expression (Image or words) to be judged by the Gestapo profile police ... I've banned myself from using ANYTHING Yahoo and Match because of that reason because they policed my profile ...
Sure don't use other people's photos if you do, credit them! ... Don't put a singles ad online and use a photo of your daughter, or some random stranger or yourself 25 years ago to attract a younger male ... duh!!! Don't use a celebrity ... again DUHH! But if you create your image ... why not? I have many photos I like to use, some have been pulled, I'm pissed when it happens, why can't I show my talent without a face present?
How would anyone really know if we lied anyway unless it was a mainstream photo? If I don't want to post my face (for whatever reason) I should not be required to do so but If I want to show off my artistic ability I should be allowed to do so. And if people MUST see a photo just to speak to a person so be it ... MOVE ON (I don't wish to speak to you anyway) ... Say Hi to me first ... I'll send a recent photo of me .... geesh ...
The whole idea is to make an ad attractive .... to attract a certain person whom may appreciate that image, your talent, your style ... YOU. But don't try to be someone whom you are not or may HAVE BEEN ... thats not the way to start any relationship.
Report Spammers and Fakes leave the REAL PEOPLE and their own images and words (whatever they may be) ALONE.
Maybe a check box to claim ... "Not my face"? In the end it all comes down to what the site owner decides ... as it should be ...

I do agree that picts must be tastefull, non nude or suggestive and of no one else other than the person in the profile. I have had picts of a lillies garden/hiking photos removed that I took myself.I posted these to show that I did indeed have the interests listed in my profile,I actually recieved a lot of positive feed back on my photos people enjoyed some of them, they have been a great ice breaker and a fantastic aid in meeting people with the same interests. Because of this I would like to respectfully ask you to allow this type of photo

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 3:59:59 PM | | Seems already enough people running around "tattling" on one another, just another forum for that. Regardless, IMO, I think a person's profile is their own, and however they want to display themselves, [excluding nudity] they should have the right to do so. | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 4:00:54 PM | I personally have my back end posted because I live in a small town and work publicly. Posting my face allows the local ilk to see me and approach me at work. Not what I want really. I reserve my face pics, for the most part, until I hope I feel the guy is not some psychotic stalker.
I also happen to know of more than one married man who posts a similar pic and because they are looking for "Other" relationships, and clearly state so much, they also don't post their faces.
Than add the fact that not all of us are as photogenic as others. This doesn't mean not attractive, I mean we just don't photgraph well.
There are several reasons to post the pics we do. What about all the cleavage or lingerie shots? Is the picture of my bluejeans more offensive than some girl sprawled out on a couch in a suggestive pose, or someones cleavage pressed up against the screen? But because they show their face they get to keep their pictures up and I don't.
Where is the reasoning?
If we are forced to remove our pictures, can you at least offer us a frame that says something like... photos available upon request...... so we don't lose all traffic because of so many having a ....no pic = no interest policy.
I have seen through experimenting that the picture you post makes a huge difference in the traffic that you have viewing your profile.

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 4:09:02 PM | | Not EVERYONE is here to find dates. That's why we have the option to select "friends" as what we're looking for. I'm here for friends, forums and events - so why would it matter what pics I have posted? I HOPE there is a very small percentage of fake profiles -- and you're going to find them on every website on the internet including this one. I don't happen to photograph well, and sometimes consider not having pics at all. | |

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 4:11:05 PM | I think it's a stupid idea.Somebody obviously reported my image.......and it got deleted.
Somebody WAS obviously in a pissy mood and didn't get any chocolate from the EASTER bunny....... BOO HOO.....Grow the f.uck up........you don't like somebody's picture..don't look at it.
Voting to remove somebody's picture is something a 10 year old would do.I don't knoew what's worse, this feature,or the my friends list.
The bottom line is this.........if somebody's picture bothers you that much........YOU obviously got issues to work on......I can imagine how these people handle real life situations.

| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 4:13:55 PM | | In response to ladyc4's comment about having the main pic be a full body shot (not sure if you were just being sarcastic or kidding, so please forgive me if you were), I'm going to highly, highly disagree. I dislike posting body shots. I want the person to like me for me, not what my body looks like. I find that having the majority of my pictures be solely of my face, I've cut back on the amount of superficial men who message me...and that's what I was aiming for. So, the whole full-body-shot thingie ma jiggie should remain an OPTION, not a requirement. | |
|
| Reporting And deleting Main images Posted: 4/8/2007 4:17:17 PM | People have the right to stay anonymous............bottom line.At least a body pic is better than no pic................my opinion. It makes no sense....Either you put up a picture with a face shot or you put up no pic?
Think about it ...........it's nonsense.
