| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 10:47:54 AM | So I have read a few posts from women in other threads looking down their nose at a guy for wearing jeans. I say good for him... he is dressing as himself, and is probably much more confident in himself for doing it. When you are comfortable, you are more yourself too. So lets do a quick analysis here:
Price: Dress slacks- 40 dollars Jeans- 60-80 dollars
So technically wearing jeans is dressing richer.
Comfort: Dress slacks: Yuck... they are NOT comfy at all. They ride up too. Jeans: Once worn a couple of times are some of the most comfortable things to wear.
Jeans win there too.
Speaking from a male POV... give me a woman with a nice bum in a tight pair of jeans ANYTIME!

| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 10:53:07 AM | Jeans have come a long way...i like them...and i used to date a guy who had money, he wore jeans, a nice tshirt and a suit jacket and always looked sharp AND comfortable....women know how to dress them up, or dress them down....i'm sure men can do the same....
as long as it's not a formal event jeans are just fine for a date
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:05:34 AM | i think this whole issue of wearing jeans has been blown out of proportion. im pretty sure most people have no problem with clean jeans. I think if people complain about people showing up in jeans and a tshirt for a first date its because they are either ripped...old and tattered...stained or whatever else. there are a few other threads about this as well. I mean a guy could show up in a stained, bedraggled suit and that would be just as bad imo. Its hard enough meeting people you'd like to see more than once without making their jeans an issue.

Its hard enough meeting people you'd like to see more than once without making their jeans an issue. Even if they wear their jeans really high? Under their armpits high?
What if the jeans have an elasticated waistband?
What if they're turned up at the bottom? Come on! That one's legitimate. I mean, what is it? 1982??!!!!?

| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:25:37 AM | I don't think the problem is people wearing jeans...but more HOW they wear them.
Sorry but really high waisted jeans aren't flattering and not in style anymore.

| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:29:02 AM | I think a guy in nice jeans, with a nice shirt and a sportcoat & nice shoes is the sexiest thing...WAAAAYYYYY sexier than a guy in slacks:) | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:29:40 AM | give me a woman with a nice bum in a tight pair of jeans ANYTIME!/
Amen brother, either that or a white pair of pants, or a tight dress, yeahhhhhh...

|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 12:12:50 PM | | I think jeans are sexy, but only if they're the right size. I love to see a guy in jeans where you can actually see the shape of his derriere. Jeans can look good and dressy if you want them to, and I've worn them on more than one first date so why shouldn't men? | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 1:34:26 PM | Hey, Reaper, I personally like the ones where the back pockets ride right behind the knees. Then there's no need for the boxer/briefs question, cause we all KNOW.
Meh, I personally like a man in jeans. If I am ever stupid enough to remarry, I want to get hitched on the beach wearing jeans and T-shirts. But, guys, they have to fit.
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 1:49:15 PM | I love guys in a good, well fitted pair of jeans. Preferably boot cut, that way they don't stick to their ankles (skinny jeans are not my fave on any gender) and fits to their bum nicely.
Hate jeans that droop and look like you didn't have time to make it to the washroom.
I don't want to see your underwear, and I don't like to show mine (unless its under the right circumstances! ) Lets keep that a standard in both sexes!
So many comments on jeans...but for the most part...a guy can dress up and down in jeans and LOOK GOOD!
Thats my opinion for the day!!!
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 1:57:38 PM | | It depends on how the jeans fit and how they look on the guy. If the jeans have worn out knees or tattered please THROW THEM OUT. Get a nice pair of jeans that fit well and a nice buttondown shirt and you've got a winning combination. | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 2:43:56 PM | | I love a man in jeans as long as they fit nice and are in style. Women get turned on by how a guy's bum looks in jeans too! | |

| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 6:19:18 PM | I haven't owned a pair of jeans since 1996. They don't look good on me, IMO. I wear either docker-type pants, or camo pants (some in solid colors, some not).
Do women look down on guys who wear camo pants?
I like them because they're so utilitarian with all of the cinch straps and extra pockets. You could carry a small, 3rd world village in my pants.
Maybe I should've been born a marsupial...
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 6:35:16 PM | | It all depends on taste and fashion sense. A man with good taste will look good in jeans and anything else he choose to wear. A man with bad taste can look bad even in a suit and tie. | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 6:46:03 PM | | The issue isnt the jeans, its the sloppy look once you add the wrinkled tshirt and flip flops. You can wear a nice pair of jeans with a nice button shirt and a tie and look sexy. The issue is grooming. | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 6:48:29 PM | while we're discussing what jeans not to wear....sorry but i'm not into the ''gangsta rapper'' look with the jeans off the ass and boxers showing....i see that enough at work...and i really don't want to either...
if you have to hold them up in order to walk without tripping, they're too big
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 9:49:39 PM | If a guy wants to wear jeans on a date with me it's all good, as long as we're not going anywhere too fancy. I always dress super casual (sweats and hoodies in the winter, tank tops and board shorts in the summer) so when I throw on a pair of jeans I'm dressing up.
I have to agree with everyone else though, your jeans should fit properly if you're gonna wear them. Nothing super tight, and nothing hanging around your knees. If you have to walk funny or hold them up yourself or something to keep them from falling off or tripping you it's time for a new pair.
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:49:51 PM | | Jeans are great, as long as they fit. Around your waist, as they were meant to. Not around your hips, or belted under your ass. I don't want to see your underwear unless the jeans are coming all the way off. | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/13/2007 11:56:43 PM | | I love a guy in jeans! I hate it when they wear slacks or sweatpants or shorts. Slacks look too pretentious, sweatpants look messy, and shorts are also blah. Of course there are times when one of the above are appropriate. | |
|
| Jeans Posted: 4/23/2007 11:00:31 AM | Its kinda funny... the common thing I see is "make sure they are clean, not ripped and fit right"
BUT
I was in the mall this weekend, and most of the jeans I saw on the racks were torn, baggy and looked soiled.
Cripes... I would have kept all those worn out pairs of jeans had I known it was in style LOL
Its comforting to see most of the ladies agree that a clean pair of jeans is fine to wear out as long as it is not a fancy place.

| Jeans Posted: 4/23/2007 3:11:16 PM | | I really hate those yellowed looking jeans, they remind me of dog pee. | |

| Jeans Posted: 4/23/2007 4:21:41 PM | I'm completely OK with a guy wearing jeans - if they show his ass
Not so tight that they're screaming Cowboy or WeHo
But no so loose that a breeze can catch the excess fabric :P
And if a guy wears jeans to the date, it should be OK with him if his date wears jeans too

| Jeans Posted: 4/23/2007 6:52:45 PM | Jeans are fine, swimshorts and sweatpants are not. Jeans must be clean and all in one piece, but are fine. If you're a mechanic, change out of your workclothes into some clean ones before goinng out.
I wear jeans A LOT so I certainly wont complain most of the time. The time to change into something better occurs occasionaly however, and is noted when the line is crossed.
