| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 3:00:58 PM | | No matter how much you e-mail and phone talk with someone you've met online, when you finally meet for that "first date",99 times out of 100, it starts to seem like a job interview with all the questions going back and forth. This got me to thinking-What's the dumbest question you've ever been asked on a first date? It's hard for me to narrow it down to just one, but here goes:"If we became a couple, would it be ok if I still went out with my ex once a week?". Never have I ended a date as fast as I did this one. The next day, she had the audacity to call me, wondering when we were going out again! P.S.: We didn't(as if I needed to add that-LOL). | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 3:36:23 PM | "How long have you been on (insert internet dating site)?" "How many guys have you met?" "How long have you lived in (insert city)?" "What do you like to do for fun?" "How many kids do you have?" "How long have you been single?" I could go on ad naseum. While none of them are really that "dumb" not really the type of question that leads to conversation. Or the real clincher......"sooo...tell me about yourself"...UGH. That's the worst! EDIT: I've been tempted to answer so tell me about yourself..."Well my mom and dad liked each other a lot so one night........hahaha | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 3:53:10 PM | | I am a woman who is 6 feet tall and before I go out with a guy I ALWAYS tell him I am 6 ft. tall. Almost always the first thing they say when we meet is "you are tall aren't you?" One of these days I am going to say...NO.. what makes you say that? It is a guestion that is really getting on my nerves. I want to shout...what did you think...I lied about my height! | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 4:03:29 PM | JUDYB154: I had to laugh aobut that...I'm very tall too and once in a while I get that "old" question, "so do you play basketball?". Oh brother...not that agian....so finally I started answering "Nope, are you a jockey?" hehehehe
anyway....I don't remmber gettting irritating questions from a date, don't remember any "interviews" either. the last 2 guys I've met in person were super cool....no interviews, Just relaxed, nice, fun conversation. However, long ago when I used to online date more frequently I'm sure I must have gotten some dumb ones. I'v just forgotten the guys and the interviews by now.

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 5:35:02 PM | | One guy, who couldn't stop bringing his ex into the conversation, actually asked me how the 'change' was affecting me!...I looked at him, laughed, and asked if he was talking about what I thought he was...and yes, he was, lol. Since that hasn't been an issue, that's all I said...he then went on to talk about how his ex has been a raving lunatic during that time...needless to say, that was our one and only meeting, lol, more because of the ex talk than anything else. | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 8:33:21 PM | "One guy, who couldn't stop bringing his ex into the conversation" prolibertate...yes...can relate. Could actually redo the thread with another question, what's the dumbest question you never asked...and didn't want to know. So...tell me about your ex...that would be it! *hit forehead on monitor* I've never asked...ever...but did get more than an earful...only once. | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 8:50:30 PM | | got a good laugh out of some of these. Perhaps what we need is a dating resume complete with past relationship references, so you could call up an ex and find out just how stupid or what ever this person is. Wouldn't it make all this so much easier since most seem to treat it like they are applying for a relationship treat it like your applying for a job. You could certainly narrow the field a lot easier if thy had to put down reason for leaving each realtionship lol . | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 8:51:18 PM | "So do you live on the island?"
"Uh..No. I live in a Motel 6 in Hoboken, New Jersey and commute here daily. "
When she said, "Really?" I know there was no hope for that date.

Posted: 4/14/2007 9:02:51 PM | | "Perhaps what we need is a dating resume complete with past relationship references, so you could call up an ex and find out just how stupid or what ever this person is. " I hope you're joking..or maybe you hadn't considered that the reason that some exes are..is that well...they have a different version of what the "truth" is. That honesty isn't something they could get their heads around? Maybe not your experience, but many are exes because they've lied. It's happened to me, so yes, I wouldn't have any problem with it, if they would tell the honest truth. Two words that some have no clue about.

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 9:14:08 PM | I would say the dumbest question ( and I have been asked this more than once...) was "So, have you had any luck on these dating sites?" The first time someone asked me that I truly didnt know how to answer him! I mean, if I did have any luck, would I still BE here??? | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/14/2007 10:56:46 PM | Okay, are you ready for this?....there were actually three dumb questions (in a row) that was asked by the same stupid shit within the first 5 minutes of meeting him...this really takes the prize for dumbest questions(s) asked on a 1st date)
First, let me set the scene for you....he is waiting inside the restaurant for me...I was right on time....and as I arrive and try to flash my best smile cuz I know I am looking good that day...he says.....
1. "Why are you wearing sunglasses, its not even sunny out?"
2. Do you think you are "Ms. Hollywood or something?"
and finally, after the first two insults, soon after the hostess seats us, he asks,
3. Can I kiss you?
ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH and even after I answered a resounding "no" to his last question, he still insisted on sitting on my side of the booth and planting one on my cheek... when I clearly gave to signs of us having any chemistry.

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/15/2007 12:05:41 AM | | "Do you mind if I take this call?" And then she went on to talk for nearly 10 minutes, judging by the way the convo was going it had to be a friend. Needless to say after dinner was done it was time to go. I couldn't believe she just sat there chatting while I was sitting there waiting to finish this "1st" date and make a go of it, basically ignored for the whole 10 min of her casual conversation with her friend. Unbelieveable nerve. | |

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/15/2007 12:11:25 AM | LOL well I have to laugh the dumbest comment I ever had on a date happened one day when I was caught in a rain storm on a way to a resteraunt. My date was inside oblivious to the weather outside.
I came in driping wet from a down pour and apologized to my date for being late. She took one look at me dripping there and said "How did you get wet ?"
I said with a straight face "I ran through a car wash chasing a monkey who had stole my car keys."

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/15/2007 12:41:00 AM | I haven't done enough on-line dating to answer for that, but real world dating...
"Will you marry me?" Seriously, first date, arrived with roses and a marriage proposal. Asked me to marry him within the first ten minutes.
I can top it though, had a guy ask me to marry him the first time we talked, we never even dated, he'd just seen me walking past to the store every day and decided I was his soul mate.

| Dumbest question you've been asked on 1st date? Posted: 4/15/2007 12:42:52 AM | Mine was from a fireman who asked me, "Do you want to see my hose?"
Seeing as he didn't drive up in the actual firetruck, I kind of clued in that it was a certain part of his anatomy that I wasn't quite prepared to witness in all its glory yet.
Needless to say...no second date. LOL (Good grief, after that intro, what was he going to show me next...his favourite fire hydrant?)
