Do you make it at home or go to the pub to eat?
Does it make a difference when you have more people over than your immediate household?
Do you have your main meal at lunchtime or evening dinner? Does it matter?
With the recent PoF meets in mind - Does having a skinful make a difference?

I sometimes invite my parents or we go to theirs. Come the Summer I'm never in because I'm the glamorous tea lady for a local cricket team and spend all my weekends at cricket spreading my baps for the lads  so we either eat at the pub after a match or I cook something quick and easy when we get in or I might get the BBQ on the go and do a quickie for me and my boy  | |

Posted: 4/15/2007 3:57:57 AM | I hardly ever cook a Sunday Roast now - last one was Christmas (how bad is that!!). We have a local pub that does a mean carvery, so I am afraid that is where I go with friends or family.
But today, no way, outside by the pool and a bbq is in order I think, mid afternoon!!! Kill two birds (lunch and dinner) with one stone.  | |

Excellent idea!
Call the chef, place your order and collect it when you want. ten minutes in the oven, some gravy and you're done. Yummy!
Although I do seem to be collecting a fair few plates.....keep forgetting to take them back! | |

Posted: 4/15/2007 4:29:48 AM | I have a supermarket 10 minutes away so on hot days, we pick up a couple of barbecued chickens and some crusty French bread. Add to that the homemade coleslaw and potato salad with lots of other salad and crunchy veggies. A veritable family feast.

3: Live alone so rarely have company for lunch.
4: Prefer lunchtime for ease of sleeping at night reasons.
5: I rarely drink OTT but like most I do get the extra munchies on the rare occasions I have!
6: Whatever is in the fridge/freezer or something I "prepared earlier".
My local pub does a great veggie (I'm not vegetarian but adore vegetables) carvery for £3.95. 2 Yorkshires, a stack of roasties & 6 or 7 veg covered in gravy, I couldn't cook that lot for double the price so I'm a regular visitor lol. | |

Posted: 4/15/2007 4:47:52 AM | Oh Yea I love my Traditional Suday Lunch, the Best Meal of the week, I buy a big joint, to make up 3 meals, I preper it & cook it, on a saturday & just warm it up of a sunday. I like to vary my Meat from Chicken, Beef & Lamb. I have Fresh Vegetables from Leeks, Beans, Carrots, Courgettes & frozen Peas. I steam all food, to get more out of them.
I also love to have a glass of wine,but very rare, I have beer, I always stopped at home & helped ma to help cook the sunday roast.

I try to do a Sunday lunch every weekend, but if all else fails we have a brilliant place that you ring up and can collect a full Sunday lunch for under 4 quid.. | |

If it is at mine I cook a roast
If it at theirs they cook whatever they decide
Sometimes we go to the local harvester which is nearby.
If we are eating together then we eat late as my daughter works on a Sunday until at least 5pm.If it is just me and youngest on the odd occassion we eat about 2.30 ish.
So we have no hard and set rules for Sunday. | |

Posted: 4/15/2007 4:56:12 AM | I tell you what I do love a good Sunday roast but when you are cooking for one it just seems like the saddest thing ever with a whole load of effort for 5 minutes of munching. So yeah - sometimes have one down the pub if there is lunchtime footie.
I miss my Gran's yourkshire puddings. The absolute very best I can assure you.

I went to The White House on halfax Road last weekend so i didnt actually make it hehe...But it was excellent.Today Im off to a barbeque so I got out of cooking again!!! | |

It's not really worth doing all that cooking for one, so if I really fancy one then I tend to invite myself a family members house .

I work 7 days a week and very long hours so when i get home i dont wanna cook and i dont think the pubs are going to want to cook for me at 9 2nght when i finish work lol.
edit: i dont really eat lol. I used to be kinda anorexic. But nev admitted it till i found myslf in hospital. But i dont eat much as i dont need to in my oppion and its also a chaw to eat lol | |

My son has Roast spuds
I have Roast Parsnips and no roast spuds now
We both have peas
both have sweetcorn
he has cabbage
A yorkshire pudding each
My mum used to make a full roast with me dad every sunday, no matter how hot it was they had to make it as my dad really loves his roast dinners. Even now he lives alone he still makes a roast.. Like Tim, he makes enough for a few dinners, takes them in the car with him back to Heathrow for dinners for monday and tuesday...
I think they are ok, a lot of hassle though | |

Nowadays ill eat anything, dependant what im up to...(obviously i mean Sundays but supposed it can be used in general)
I used to date a girl who was vegetarian and we used to make gorgeous Sunday roast lunches, proper gravey, so much veg it was unbelievable and no Quorn or nut roast in sight!
Btw im free next sunday if anyone wants to cook me one...u dont have to talk to me and ill just turn up when i get the call to say its on the table. | |

then,
Pull out the Aunt Bessies Yorkshires,
pull out the Aunt Bessies roasties
pull out the Aunt Bessies stuffing balls,
..................few o Bessies snips as well and assorted veg,
bit o me fave aunts colly cheese and finally the piste de resistance
Bessies onion gravy!!
swiftly followed by her Bramley Apple pie n custard!
