I attended the bowling event on Friday. I had to leave early as I had a prior commitment and had to be somewhere by 10 pm that night.
Today I heard that I left the bowling with a guy and spent the night with him cause we walked out of the bowling alley together. We had a good laugh about it. 
Anyone else ever hear bizarre rumours about themselves? | |

When I got back to work, I hear that rumour going around was that I had quit my job, moved to another town and was shacked up with a couple native girls. I never even left town, sheeesh. It is crazy the way people assume and then spread thier assumptions around and what about the mental morons that continue to spread these rumours around. Thats why I try and keep my mouth shut if I don't know what I am talking about, lol. | |

People talk about others, it's just human nature, what's harmful though is the insidious nature that gossip has, people start to take it as fact when that really might not be the case. If you know something's untrue, correct it and move on or ignore it altogether. Really, who cares what people say? Let them talk, their lives must be pretty dull if they need to have someone else be their focus.
Anyways, I recently heard a good one. I had a bunch of people over for cards after I got out of the hospital and I was told by someone else that my neighbour thinks that me and my POF friends are in some group out to swap guys around. Hey, that's a good idea for the next event... POF Swingers Swap. Jesus Christ! | |

Ah - yes I did shrug it off. I could care less what people think of my actions.
Like I said the guy and I had a chuckle over it and laughed at how the gossip can easily happen on POF and I told him I was going to start this thread.
I just thought it would be interesting to hear what other people have heard about themselves.

Posted: 4/15/2007 4:57:35 PM | Mon Cherie, POF can be full of gossip and rumours, but it's no different from anywhere else. Whether it be work, circle of friends, school, etc, it can and will happen, it's not exclusive of POF. Like you did, just laugh it off and ignore it.
OT: I don't know of any current rumours about myself, but I am sure there are plently out there. | |

Because I got sick, and disappeard from public for a couple of years (I used to be a social butterfly) - all of a sudden I had aids, hepititis, pregnant about 8 times, gained 200 pounds - even became a streetwalker! LOL Some people really need to get lives. It doesn't bother me, because I look at the sources its coming from - and obviously these people need to talk trash about others because they realize deep down inside - they are nothing special themselves. | |
