Portorrican Rice

Has anyone every heard of portorrican rice? My girlfriend hasn't had it in years and I cna't seem to find a recipe for it. I would think it would be some slight variation on spanish rice because she said that it was orangish in color and it was a more dry type of rice. If anyone has a recipe for it, or knows if it goes under a different name, could you please send it to me or post it? Thank you so much!

Start by spelling it correctly, it's easier to look up

Sounds like any number of latin red rice recipes: dirty rice, spanish rice, red rice etc.

Wash rice well, let stand. Fry until golden brown, add some tomatos, garlic, chiles, cilantro, onion and cook till soft. Add liquid - chicken stock and/or water and cook normally till done.

My favorite is Mexican green rice done in the same way but with poblano chiles, italian parsly, cilantro, garlic and onions.

Spice packets from Goya Sazon are pretty prevalent for adding color and seasoning

Some color may come from Annatto which slightly reddish
or Azafrán (also known as saffron) which slightly yellow.

Yellow and red will give that orange color your looking for

I thought that it was Puerto Rican rice, but when I looked up recipes for it she said that wasn't it. Apparently, it is in fact a dish called Portorrican Rice and that's how she said it was spelled. She also said it was more of a brownish orange color. Thank you everyone for your input though.

Best of luck finding what you want.
I spent 10 years in the New Jersey, New York area eating rice dishes
made by numerous beautiful Latin American ladies from various countries.
I'm out of ideas for you.
