There'll be dancing and great music in The Clover Club of the Charlottetown Legion at the 40+ Singles Dance sponsored by the PEI Sociable Singles on Friday, April 20th, 9:30 to 12:30 with music by Kim Albert. Tickets are available at the door for $7."

Posted: 4/19/2007 12:14:14 PM | and PoFers have to get there early because the Sociable Singles ALWAYS grab the best table first lol .. I happen to know that for a fact. lol
.. there will be great music - it's a cheap night out ... the dance floor is big enough to accommodate a lot of people AND most importantly it's a singles dance so there will be lots of single people there.
The SS puts these dances on every third friday of every month at the Charlottetown Legion.
Actually the SS is a pretty decent group (I think they're age range is 40+ but don't quote me - membership is $15.00 a year).. they organize a lot of get togethers and events each month of the year. Not a Dating Club in itself but a way to hang out with other singles and do thing with other singles such as movies, pool, darts, bowling, even curling, concerts, theatre, any kind of group events that as a single person some of us miss out on when 'dislocated' from our regular social network after a major life upheaval such as a move or divorce.

Plus,I studied hard so I wouldn't have to be a manual labourer, you know, and those tables are heavy and the competition is fierce and I'm a timid little thing too.

Posted: 4/19/2007 4:12:02 PM | hi We have gone many times to SS dances. The tables on the right side of the band is the last to fill up ... so good place to sent POF to fish as they dance lol.
I did mentioned the dance on the volunteer page and about the buzz site, which is very well imformed for Ch'town and S'side dances and any activities..

I like Dino, as well, when he plays at the SS Dances, but I most of all enjoy the Pig & Whistles in North Rustico in summer time when Dino et al play there. | |

and then there's the Wine Festival and the Dunes is opening soon too ..
there's going to be so much fun stuff going on now that summer is starting to show up ..

The second annual "Bootleggers Ball" will be held on Saturday May 19, in the Delta Prince Edward Hotel Ballroom. A soulful evening in the round with PEI's finest musical talents, featuring, Joey Kitson, Tim Chaisson band and twenty other accomplished local musicians.
It's on a CBC site and dated 14 May - not sure why!!

Will keep an eye open for you .. hope the weather is decent enough for the drive in to town. Although, knowing you, and your ability to handle blizzard conditions, a little rain isn't going to stop you any time soon lol. See you later | |
