What’s PARTY IN THE PASTURE? Imagine two solid days of Texas Music and fun in Smokey Wilson’s pasture, near Cuero, Texas. (And that’s not counting the spontaneous late-night jam sessions around the campfires.)
As always, there will be designated tent and RV areas (no hookups), food and merchandise vendors, a BBQ cookoff, GREAT people, … and more good times than any one person should be expected to handle alone (so bring your friends).
No alcohol will be sold so BYOB. THEY DO SELL ICE!
Watch for more news as they finalize the headliner and musician lineup .
SAVE THE DATE!
DIRECTIONS... from Austin, near the I-35 junction, take US-183 South for about 70 miles, right on Steen Rd (FM-766) for 12 miles, right on FM-953, and the signs should all point to Smokey’s ranch at 1380 FM-953, Cuero, TX! (On the big map, that sorta looks like just south of a straight line a 1/3 of the way between San Antonio and Houston... sorta.)

| PIP - Party in the Pasture - Cuero, TX - May 4 - 6, 2007 Posted: 4/20/2007 1:23:05 PM | The physical address is: 1380 Fm 953 Cuero, TX 77954
(Works in yahoo maps, should in your fav map tool too! )
(Or if you're a fan of Google Earth, all you'll see is an intersection of FM-953 and CR-162 and lots of field space... don't worry, looks mostly green to me!)

| PIP - Party in the Pasture - Cuero, TX - May 4 - 6, 2007 Posted: 4/25/2007 12:54:41 PM | Hi, IyQ. And hello to DAWN1954, kingfish4u, and rayvalentine! Haven’t figured out all the details yet, but the plan would be whoever gets there first, should reserve a spot big enough for everyone. Even better if we can coordinate by cellphone and meet somewhere around Cuero before heading into the field.
Let me also state the following as there has been some confusion... although Smokey’s Party in the Pasture runs for 3 days, it’s not like anyone has to camp out there from start to finish. Yes, some folks do arrive early, as in before the gates open on Friday noon. The idea being to get the best camping location... you drive your vehicle into the area and claim a spot. And you can leave whenever you wish. But the music begins Friday evening, plays all thru Saturday, and into Sunday! Oh, the fee is $20 per vehicle per nite... and that’s why it’s better to meet in town, pack into as few vehicles as possible! We’ll have it all figured out before anyone leaves their house. For more details about what you can/can’t bring, what’s there/what isn’t, the musicians, etc, please see http://www.smokeywilson.com/PIP2007.htm

I will not be camping as I will not be going home from Houston so I will try to get a motel somewhere if possible. If any one has knowledge of a decent motel inthe area please let me know. | PIP - Party in the Pasture - Cuero, TX - May 4 - 6, 2007 Posted: 4/29/2007 9:46:54 PM | Okay, I hope that I don’t get too many “bozo points” for this, but due to a family/college event, I will be unable to make it to Cuero on Friday. Naturally, I am hoping that folks will be there on Friday to claim a big enough space for everyone and allow me to squeeze in on Saturday morn. I will be still be happy to coordinate with CincoDeMayoMandy and everyone to make sure that we’re on the same page, have the latest info, exchange cell phone numbers, etc.
