This is bad news for my Colts. But props to New England for finally getting the second best QB in the NFL some receivers to work with in Moss and Stallworth. What does everyone think of this?

Pats will win the Super Bowl.

Nope, but he may as well have been.
He was with the Oakland Raiders the last two seasons, they just rarely won and with all the spotlight on Terrell Owens, Moss was sort of forgotten.

I am thrilled to death Moss was traded to the Patriots. That means he won't be a Green Bay Packer.

It's not a surprise that Moss was dealt. Everybody who follows The Raiders knew it was coming sooner or later. I'm kind of surprised that he was traded to such a disciplined team like that Pats, but it might do him some good. The guy can still make plays.

Thats why going to a disciplined team like that Pats may do him some good. The Vikings under Denny Green, and the Raiders were both free-for-alls

Brady the second best QB in the league? Wow, Colts win ONE Superbowl and Manning is the King. Now the Brady has someone to actually catch the ball, look for the Pats to bring poor Peyton back down to Earth.

Manning was the best QB in the NFL even before the ring.
Teams win rings, not quarterbacks. Yes it's impressive that THE PATRIOTS have won 3 SB's in 4 seasons, but it's ridiculous just to acknowledge the quarterback for that.

This is football's answer to the Garnett vs. Duncan debate that rages in basketball.

Wow, that is a serious set of receivers they have over there now. I wonder if Moss will be able to handle Belicheks syle.

Randy Moss will be a great and welcomed addition to the Patriots.I'm pretty sure that his attitude will go down now that he's no longer going to be playing for go-nowhere teams like the Vikings and Raiders. All Moss ever wanted was to play for a winning team and it's finally going to happen. With all of the offseason moves the Patriots made so far,I see no reason why Moss shouldn't be wearing a Super Bowl ring next year

"he's no longer going to be playing for go-nowhere teams like the Vikings and Raiders. All Moss ever wanted was to play for a winning team and it's finally going to happen."

A couple of those Viking teams made the NFC championship. Yes the Raiders suck, but Moss thrives on excuses. He has admitted he takes plays off, doesn't like to block, and is basically a one-trick pony.....throw it up deep and he'll go get it. He's a selfish child and will be totally disruptive in the locker room. I see this as a sign of desperation on NE's part. Five years ago Belichik would never have signed a punk like Moss.....but he sees teams around him getting better and that the window on this dynasty is rapidily closing. Moss doesn't love the game....he loves his paycheck more.....that's why his best days are behind him. Pats fans you will regret this signing.

" see no reason why Moss shouldn't be wearing a Super Bowl ring next year"

Right....predictions in April are so often accurate.....there have been at least a dozen other accquisitions around the league more valuable than Moss.

Not that I mind being a Dolphins fan.....

If you have ever read the "Patriot Reign". Belichick is a complete jerk and I mean that in a good way. He has his team under control. If Moss does act up we all know that he will be benched. Belichick is a type of guy when he gets players, the rule is "keep your mouth shut". Watch for Moss, he won't make a peep in the locker room. And, if doesn't run his route, make his block, etc.... He won't play. Belichick has done it to Seymour, Milloy, Dillion, and other players.

I assure you a Super Bowl ring for NE Patriots this year with or without Moss.

Oh by the way, Moss is willing to restructure his contract just so he can play with Pats.

Everybody gets along and plays nice in April. What will happen when Brady spreads the ball around(as he likes to do) and Moss doesn't get as many catches as he thinks he should? I don't buy Belichik benching Moss for his lazy behavior....don't care how he structures the contract, you don't sign Moss and not play him. If Parcells(Belichiks mentor)put up with TO's shit and played him anyway, Belichik will play Moss. I'm so tired of the "Belichik is a genius" crap. He's a great coach but you talk like he's infallible and every decision is the right one. Baloney! I really think this is a desperation move....regardless.....the Pats can no longer claim to be this wholesome, team-oriented group with no behavior problems. They drafted the biggest thug(merriweather from Miami) in college football...remember him stomping the head of a Fla. International player last year? Character does matter...want proof?...the Bengals(about 10 arrests, total greasefire in the locker room=no playoffs).

"I assure you a Super Bowl ring for NE Patriots this year with or without Moss."

So I get the other 31 teams and you get the Pats?.....where do I sign up for that bet?

Moss is a punk. Everyone knows that.

But even punks need some love.

Maybe Belichik is the one to show him the love.

If you have done your research, Parcell has retired because he did not want to put up with "T.O's sh*t". Sure there are many reasons besides T.O, but I am certain that T.O was one of them. You did not see what happen last year with Dallas. Moss has been in league nearly ten years, give or take. And he has been on a losing team for the last two years, so the man is frustrated because he wants to win. Moss will know his role when he walks into the Patriot's locker room and I am sure Belichick has already approached him and explained to him his expectations.

For Merriweather, the guy is young and has a lot to learn. Everybody deserves a second chance. There are a lot of veterans that will show him the right direction.

Also, I never said Belichick is a "genius", but I will tell you know now that he is. Look at his track record, three Super Bowls.

Furthermore, you can't compare Cincinnati with NE. There are no similarities.

I agree with the "with or without Moss" statement. Dang it we were SO close last year too and just decided to give the game away?? WTH happened there? Thats another topic. We can get there again.

This topic (about Moss) smacks of the type of discussion when Dallas signed Terrell Owens. Talk about a troublemaker!

As a lifelong Vikings fan, I'm VERY glad to not see Moss in Green Bay. That would have just been sick to see him wearing green and gold!!!

I hope Randy is able to get it going again--he needs to become a winner and a positive contributor while ending what could be a Hall of Fame career. I always thought Moss was a bit misunderstood and in many ways didn't like the attention he got and disliked the media in general. He'll fit right in with Belichick that way, because he won't let him talk to the media anyway.

The Pats should be nearly invincible next season with all the additions they made to a team that was just seconds away from the Super Bowl last season.

Again, I'm a Vikings fan and I think that Moss walking off the field was totally blown out of proportion. You have to realize the situation our team was in at that point in time.

At the end of the previous season (2003), the Vikings were in the driver's seat to win the division and go to the playoffs--all they had to do was beat a bad Arizona team, and no matter what Green Bay did, the Vikings take the division. Well, the laid an egg and Green Bay took the division and the Vikings ended their season. Then in 2004, the Vikings only had to beat a bad Washington team to guarantee a playoff spot. What did they do? They laid an egg again....but wound up making the playoffs anyway due to a few other teams choking. At that point in time though, it was highly unlikely that the Vikings would be going into the playoffs after losing to an inferior team.

I was GLAD to see Moss show disgust and walk off the field--I saw that as one of our big name players showing that it was pathetic to do that for a second year in a row.

Moss was never the answer in Oakland, because a receiver can only do so much. In New England, he's going to be more of a face in the crowd with a smart coach and QB who are going to know how to get him the ball, and people will leave him alone.

I'll tell you right now--be sure to draft Moorney in your fantasy draft, because Moss is going to make it impossible to defend the run.

This could be a good or bad trade as has been stated several times already. He does have talent as a reciever, but the attitudes of people like him and TO have me looking elsewhere more often than not. What happened to people like Jerry Rice, T. Brown, S. Sharpe, just to name a few good recievers who didn't really have the attitude problems these two have. Then again S. Smith is doing a good job in Carolina and don't hear as much negative things about him.

Also, I was glad to see NE lose this year. Sorry Pats fans, but the bandwagon effect that the last few years have had for the Pats is just sickening. I am a 49ers fan period, hopefully we'll get out of our near decade rut soon though -_-. Then again hopefully the NFC doesn't completely get dominated by their AFC counterparts this year.

Sorry 49ners fan, but you guys are not going to make it this year. You're probably going to fall at 7-9 this year. This is why the Pats traded their 1st round draft with 49ners. Knowing that they are going to blow it and we will get your 1st and our 1st, which will most likely fall in the top 15. Thank you!
