1. take my car through a car wash
2. whiten my teeth
3. deep condition my hair

Posted: 5/1/2007 9:12:46 PM | Shower before a date? Ooh, there's a thought. But, I read somewhere that women are turned on by how men smelled (so, I took that literally). Hmm, maybe too literally?
Well, of course we clear our calendar and write down the date in a time slot (I rely heavily on my wristwatch alarm for appointments). Not so great to forget to show up.
Let's see: make sure we've enough cash and pocket change. Put on some clean clothes, especially a clean shirt. A fresh teethbrushing isn't amiss. Carry some protection in case the woman forgot and we're getting lucky. Figuring out ahead of time what's going to pass for witty repartee [you know, like Rocky and practicing turtle jokes for Adrian], unless dating's become routine enough we just show up and be ourselves.
If we felt compelled to 'prepare' in detail for a date, I think I'd get a case of nerves and might cancel out. I'm really more comfortable trying not to think about it, and just heading out the door to meet or pick her up.
Guys: What are some things you do before a date? I do some bizarre things like

LOL.. I might go two weeks without a shave. Get a date and out comes a razor.
Other than that I don't do nothing really special. The normal stuff one should do before going out in general.
Sometimes I'll polish my boots.
My car is always good to go.
Though before my last date I grabbed a flashlight and tossed a quilt into the car.
Should always do that when traveling over 100 miles to meet anyone. | |

No, what are we talking about? Personal hygiene? Certainly, you should look your best and so should everything that is an extension of you (car, clothes, jewelry, wig, handbasket of fruit) if you want to make a positive impression.
I mean who wants to turn the other person off because the grapes you are carrying are showing signs of mold and fruit flies? It's disgusting not to mention inedible!
And don't think that the people you introduce your date to aren't an extension of you as well. Learned that the hard way. Now everyone I introduce my dates to must go through a thorough inspection and quality control beforehand.

1. Clean and deodorize the car.
2. Shower, lather 3 times. A rinse just doesn't cut it. (chicks should do this also. don't worry, you can't wash away pherimones).
3. deep condition hair (if you have it:)
4. Brush and floss teeth. (more than once won't give you cavities)
5. Don't smoke (even if you both do). Come on...... if you can't go a few hours without a smoke, you need to quit big time.
6. PLAN for a good time. A fun night rarely happens by accident. But hey.. if you're the gambling type, go for it.
Here's the important part:
7. REALLY clean the house/appt. I mean no food on the counter or stove top, and no dishes in the sink. Spotless bathroom(s) and bedrooms! Clean! Understand this?
8. Have snacks and something to drink on hand (chips, booze, pop, koolaid already made, whatever.)
8. A little library in the living room that is visible. (cool titles like, Tantric Sex, The joy of Sex, Men are from mars...venus, Feminism Today ("I'm trying to figure you guyus out..") Do don't have to read them, just have titles that say "pick me up and read some of me".
9. Condoms
10. Taxi Chits. (in case she turns psycho after a drink).

Shower, shave, all that personal hygene bathroom crap.
Music. Loud.
I typically keep the jeep and bedroom pretty clean, stash laundry basket inside the closet, and try to NOT think about the date. I want to be prep'd withought preparing.
I dont usually think to clean the pipes, I think that little added tensions just going to make the night that much better, and to be honest, with a condom on, im not too worried that ill be too fast, im usually much more worried that ill be too long, or not be able to at all.

1. Drop previous date that day off at my place; just in case this one doesn't work out.
2. Tell previous date to help herself to the fridge, but to also clean my apartment
3. Tell previous date to leave if I send a text message
4. Ask previous date what are good ways to impress a lady
5. Get slapped in face by previous date
6. Watch previous date call a taxi and leave
7. Wash face... wash hands
8. Make sure car's clean
9. Drive to pick up this date
10. Repeat cycle until all 3 dates that day have gone through
