| What kind of profiles do you like?

enjoy the ones that tell a story? Or the ones that are laid-back
and casual?
Personally, I like the ones written with fun and humor. I really
like it when I get the sense that the person if fun, energetic,
and loves to laugh. I guess I enjoy it when the writer's personality
jumps off the page, but I don't know how to explain what I feel
So what does everyone else enjoy reading?

These are the things you should be looking for in a profile. A woman willing to clap with one hand, while baking you a cake in her underwear.
Anyway, back on topic...I like humor and sincerity...while both are desireable traits when looking for a partner, ya gotta read the profiles with your BS meter on at all times.

I like the funny, quirky ones that tell enough about the person that I can compose funny, quirky opening message. It is frustrating to read a profile that gives me hope, but leaves me with nothing to work with. | |

I have a frickin novel, and I like it. Keeps the ADD boyz away...
Personally, give me a profile that's fun and funny and warm and inviting and a little sexy ANY day.
Sincere can be good, but hard to hit the fine line between "open" and "maudlin".
The very best (and I'm a little bit of an expert here, unfortunately) is the profile that gives you the feeling that you are sitting on a couch next to the writer, and they are just telling you who they are- in their own style, at their own pace. They can be funny or imaginative or killer sexy or so quiet you almost don't want to breathe while you're reading it....
There is someone for EVERY one of us out there. And our profiles only need to speak to the ones that are attracted to who we truly are. So it doesn't matter what style it is, as long as the person has put genuine thought and energy into it. | |

You do Not have a fricken novel. It is a short story and very concise. I actually like yours better than Alis' because, at least with you, I know where I am going to be every moment of the date and can plan accordingly! Very detail oriented!

I can't say I like one type of profile. If they have a sense of humor regarding this process, it is likely to catch my attention and I will write and comment on it. But I don't do this as an overture normally. It's more of a nod. | |

But I'm strongly inclined not to bother contacting a woman if she can't even be bothered to check for misspellings, or writes only a couple of lines that tell me almost nothing about her. (That describes at least one third of the women's profiles on this site.) Why? Because she couldn't make it more clear that she's not motivated to meet guys, if she flat out said so in her profile. | |

I made it so the potential love can scan the first word of each mini paragraph get a short version of my traits.
It also acts as a sieve. If the woman is so daunted at the length of my profile they don't bother to read any part of it then I'm glad they kept on clicking.  | |
