do you think a persons true age is more relivent to sex/dating than how old a person looks and acts? or vise versa? my opinion is some peoples true age is very different than how old they appear essentially some ppl are not the age they are...some ppl dont fit with their own age group....if youre say 30 and you look 20 and youre dating some 1 your age who looks 10 years older than they are...i think physical and emotional age mean more than chronological age.

i agree hun , i know a man in his 50's and we have more in common then a friend of mine who ids 3 days older than me!
I think mental age is far more important than actual age! looks are quite important tho!

I'm 44 and I am told I look 34 or 36 and I act anywhere from 18 to 90 depending on my mood and the way I feel physically each day!! On most days I would say I look feel and act about 30!! hehehehe

Hi there, I totally agree. While I hate to admit it, I am just about to be 58 and really can't quite comprehend it, since my mind is still in the 30's.... Suffice it to say, I have always gone for men at least 5 years+ my junior, and I haven't changed. I do hope that men see things as I do, but somehow I feel the odds are NOT in my favor. I guess men are into the "number" of age, rather than the "realty of age". God help all you men!! LOL

I've matured since I was 18...but I feel I act relatively the same. I can't see that changing. And I can apparently pass myself off as 16 looks wise. Mental age and maturity are definitly more important....physical age only if your preoccupied with appearances.
I'd hate to attract a man with how young I look(and can act, at time), I would have never attracted a man mature enough for me...because men in my age range for dating, and with the mental age I'm attracted to, would not be attracted to someone they think is 16.

I think importance comes down to mental age, and how you act for sure. I don't see the big deal with looking a different age...me and my boyfriend are 3 years apart....I usually get ID'd, he doesn't. Most people would probably think we look to be around 6 years apart...but thats only appearances, and appearances don't matter that much. I really don't see why you seem to be making how old you look vs. how old your partner looks to be a deal. If the mental levels connect, thats all that matters.

I am 39 but think /act like 29 I look early thirties and is hard for me to date a woman my age as I will look younger for sure. Kinda like a 6 foot woman dating a 5'4 man it may happen but extremely rare

I'm 39 and don't look anywhere near my age ... nor do I act it! Often times I wished I could put the age others think I am based on my looks and how I act / dress on here than my true age... and I suppose I 'could' but my conscience won't let me... and that SUCKS cause I know I get passed by a lot just because of my chronological age.

My best relationship was with a guy 14 years younger than me. He was more mature than guys his age, and well... I'm not as 'mature' as one would think someone my age should be. We maybe looked about 5 years apart in age and that's it. The ONLY time we'd be reminded of the age difference was when talking about life experiences.

In my mind I'm 29 turning 30 and have a hard time reconciling reality in my head. It's like someone decided to add 10 years onto my birth certificate when I wasn't looking! Even people I work with or meet are constantly shocked when I mention my age. I still get ID'd at some places! The highest age anyone would have pegged me for is 35 and they said that they felt that was over reaching lol.

I truly don't fit my age group and omg when I see posts from younger people about 'old people' and then mentioning 'like around 40' I wanna cringe! Don't ya'll know? 40 is the new 30!

And neither can I---holy crap, woman! Wow, wow, wow--you look awesome!

Age is so clearly just a number, folks. I can agree that so many things date us, but we're quite capable of fighting back and stomping those things slap into the ground.

My mother is 72 and looks 50...but "thinks" 80, lol. My boyfriend is 50, looks 35, acts so many different ages that it's complex and I can't even define it. But he "thinks" so young and yummy and hot, lol.

I guess this is yet another reason to look a lil closer.

I am 30, and well depending on my mood, i act anywhere from 18 to well my age lol.

as for looks, If i have a freshly shaved face, I've been known to pass for barely 21 lol, but if i grow out a goatee I tend to add about 5yrs or so on my age.

Now when I was younger 19-22, i tended to hang with older people and was always mistaken for being closer to 30 lol. But now i hang with younger people alot more, and tend to be mistaken for a younger guy :) plus, having a baby face doesnt help either lol.

No, Funny girl, i hate say this, but if your boyfriend is the guy on your profile, and you say he looks 35, then, i must look like i am 15 lol. Cuz he looks like he is 50! only cuz of his beard and gray hair.

I know most of the people in my family tend to look very close to thier age, except for me and my brother, who is going to be 25 and can still pass for 18 lol.

I get told I look like I am in my 20's and people are usually shocked when I tell them how old I really am, which is always nice, but at the same time, I don't act that age.. and I don't fit in with the 20 something age group... we have virtually nothing in common. I find that I am attracted to a maturity that matches my own...

I'M 35, often told that I look younger, and I seem to like to date younger men for some reason. I think age is just a number (to an extent). It's your attitude and experiences that determine how old you feel.

I am 44 years old. In my pictures I am 43. Took them 6 months ago.

My father is 23 years older than me. My mother is 18 years older than I am. Father was in Hospital for Colon Cancer surgery, I go to visit. Next day Nurses are wondering if my Dad's good looking 'Brother' is going to come back.
Most time I can't hang out with my mom. I get tired of everyone telling her she has a nice husband.
One might think.. Oh his parents look young.

Friend of mine needed to get a fence built for her horse. Now I love Horses and would hate for one not to have a place to run around in. So I went to help her build a fence. She is 41... All her friends thought I was her father.

So either I look old. Or I look my age and everyone I hang around look really young.

Kind of makes you think you should date 20 year olds. That way when people ask if your that young ladies father you won't feel old, you'll just figure its because they are almost half your age.

Unfortunately I think I must look several years older than what I am. I have always acted mature though. As a Teenager I hung around adults. Carried on conversations on a higher level than teens did.

I will be 41 my birthday in November but honestly I find my age group of women,( just my experience so dont get ur panties in a bunch) ..but I find my age group to be Either old, or old trying to act young,..its blantly obivious and embarassing..
I fit in much better with late 20s and mid 30S group..just because they have the spunk and energy i have,..and I tend to enjoy that age group..I however prefer dating men my age or older..Just like the sexy look of older guys..however that age group has alot of penile problems..( 40 plus group)..now dont get ur balls all up in Knots..i realize im generalizing here..not every woman over forty acts old or obivios or every guy over 40 has errection problems...Its just my experience..
Im at the prime of my life sexually and having the worst sex of my life because of the age group of men I prefer dating..What A kanundrum!..lol
But back to the Question..
I tend not to look or act my age..I still get carded for cigs..and in many ways im extremely childlike..But thats just me, my spirit..who I am..I kinda dont want to grow up really..life is afterall about living it isnt it?
I love being 40..I just dont want to LOOK 40 or Act 40!
Aging to me is about embracing your age with your wisdom and youthful spirit!
Todays women, my age group are embracing maturity differently..I think its why we look so good..naturally beautiful..because we arnt fighting it!

my relatives, including my own mother!, has told me since i was a little girl that i have an "old soul" i take this as a compliment though
i don't go a week without being mistaken for being 14... and that's quite a bit younger than i am, so i guess that's good? ok it will be good later in life

I'm turning 40 this year. In my opinion I look my age. There's times I act it, others not so much...and then there's the times I act like a bratty kid...maybe it's the threat of a spanking that causes that.

I am male, so I don't actually have to grow up.

On the other hand, I am 45 but I don't look a day over 92.

I don't relate to people who are much younger for example in their 20's, but anyone over 30, it depends totally on personality. I have met people in their mid 30's who are too old for me and met some in their 40's and 50's who are just too young to relate to.

On a dating basis, in general I find the older the person is, the more set in their ways they are and therefore the more perfect a match is required. To offset this however, some people learn patience and tolerance with age. Sadly this is not as common as I would like.
