And what was it that made you join..
I was actually looking for a pen friend site at the time when I came across it as I hadnt been on a dating site before..So thought what the hell, whats to loose by joining.. | |

I joined just b4 splitting with ex got chattin to a really nice guy..... split with the ex on the wednesday and met the nice guy on the friday 
Was a lil' fling typey thing, don't regret it im glad i joined when i did.....

Posted: 5/10/2007 3:07:54 PM | Hmmm can't remember, have been a member for over a year now. Only really used the site properly since january. Out of curiosity i think more than anything, a friend mentioned it, and i saw on a poll it had come top 5 in best dating sites.
I keep an open mind really, don't expect too much and enjoy! 
Have made some fantastic friends on here, some i've met, some i hope to meet too. I don't really bother with other sites that im on too. This is the best one i've come across, and it is most definitely the forums that make it so interesting, oh and the fact its free lol | |

I found this site by chance in November, was on it for a couple of weeks before I started going on the forums, now I'm sort of addicted
The reason I joined was because I never go out, I mean socialise in pubs, bars or clubs since I have stopped drinking. If I don't go out, how can I meet women??????????????
Anyway I'm not that bothered, because I still believe that it will happen one day, not necessarily on POF but hey????????????????????????? | |

But I thought I would give it a whirl anyway and I am glad I did because I realise I should trust my friends more than I do but more than that I have met a very special man or two or three who have entertained me long into the early hours and have proved to be most inspiring.
They have actually been the impetus and inspiration behind my latest artwork entitled "Burlesque in a Haystack, is it really like searching for a needle in cyberspace ?" | |

Posted: 5/10/2007 3:37:39 PM | A American friend of mine pasted the link to this site to me and told me to check it out. So as i did a profile of some american woman came up and he said to me "look at her, she's butt ugly isn't she" etc etc.
Well after having him being his usual childish self i thought i'd read up about the site and found that there were alot of UK members so i thought "just give it a shot, your single, your young, you have no social life, your shift wont allow you a social life so what have you got to loose?". So i joined in September and since then... made a couple of friends but apart from that... no dates, no sparks, not many people replying or sending messages so meh... Forums just pass the time since i'm not getting much else out of this. | |

as i was single i thought why not,
I met someone and so left.....re-joined 6month later when it didn't work out.....
i met somebody else and left again......4 month this time
and now here i am.....back again 
I never really bothered with the forums much before re-joining this time round,
but now i'm in here all the time,not really 'looking' as such for dating,
i am open to it,if it comes my way,but like i said,i'm not actually 'looking'!!

Punkinpie, I hope I am included in "the nice bunch of people" because I can't help but think otherwise, given the fact that you interrogate my posts so enthusiastically.
For me this site has had an upside and downside effect on my experience of reality but I won't go into it right now because if I did I would alienate too many people with my deep thoughts. | |

If romance was all I was looking for, I'd have cleared off months ago but I've made some good friends, I'm addicted to the forums and I love the meets (even if the only ones I've been to so far are my own).

...I was actually searching on the web for a linedance club in Wetherby, on the council information site... probably the last place I would have looked for a dating site but noticed the ad
.... so I clicked to see what it was about and that was it.... I was hooked!!!! | |
