Posted: 5/11/2007 7:11:49 AM | Summer is coming, and being a chick that likes 'an all over tan' I was just wondering...why do we impose clothing restrictions on womens' upper torsos and not on mens'? Isn't the main purpose for breasts to provide nutrition to babies?
Is it morality? If it is, then why is it considered perfectly normal in European countries? Who would go bare breasted at the beach if it wasn't frowned upon? | |

Of course being male, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. It's the same with breast feeing in public. Many frown on when women do that right now, yet it's such a natural thing. My ex did it in public and she never covered herself. Why the hell should she have to do that. Some people are just so close minded about theses sorts of things. Specially in North Amercia. I think the biggest fear is all the teenage boys walking around with tents in their trunks!!!!

I lived in a high-rise for 4 years in the west end and always sunbathed topless. I do so at the beaches when I am travelling and I used to be a frequenter of Wreck Beach. I think we are fortunate to have Wreck Beach so close. I love the sun and there is nothing more relaxing than lying in the sun.
Canadians are so behind the times. If it is acceptable in European countries, then I never understood why we couldn't be permitted the same freedom as men.
Now there's an idea for someone with lots of money and plenty of time on their hands. (Hey Markus, are you listening!) | |

,,ya right and we should think of these women like a cow's feeding there young ,??,,sure thing ,,the reason they are down getting the boob jobs after they have had all the children and are finished with that stuff or they feel less womanly with small boobs is so they can look and feel sexy .The reason to take the top off at the beech is to show how sexy they look and I don't mind having a look .Its liberation all over again but this time its about being sexy and feminine again ,,,not equal and viewed as you would a man ,,,thats only my opinion ,,,I for one say lets have a look girls ,,just don't make it hard on the eyes and cover up if they aren't what we hope to see or a lot of you will be intimidated and end up on anti depressants with insecurity issues and we all no how you ladies feel when it comes to your looks and fashion .
They aren't for feeding babies anymore they are an extension of your sexuality and very attractive to look at.a nice set as well as a great ass in a g string ,you have my attention ,,,,
I was just wondering if we go for this where are our children supposed to go now to enjoy the beach ???I feel we should restrict it somehow to adult Beach's only or a nudist beach.

If we want to enjoy the sun with no freaking tans we should have just as much right as a man does to go bare torso.
As for not showing what YOU don't want to see....believe me Honey, about 95% of the male bodies on the beach are not what I want to see. If it comes down to "beauty" then I should be able to throw a towel over the fat, the flabby and the oddly hairy.
Maybe then we can have a different beach for the women you get a hard on for. Um RIGHT! | |

Funny this topic comes up just as bare breasts are eliminated from adorning the walls of the Provincial legislature.
I think if a woman is bare breasted on a beach just sunning herself no one should take offense. You dont have to let it bother you. | |

When we were all nude there was no excitement in seeing their breasts: they were there to see, no big deal. When one of the ladies would put on her top, then that's when it became a 'naughty' thing to try to peek down it and see her breasts. (This is making me sound like a perv!)
My point is that, if breasts are out in the open then they become more accepted and not a 'naughty' thing to look at. Once we try to cover them up and hide them, then they become a taboo thing. | |

Just to clarify Europe has taken nearly 40 years to be where they are in their sexual liberation and believe me the same issues were there then. Seems to have become a normal thing at beaches and pools nowadays. That doesn’t mean some people do not have objections, they simply tolerate it. The more conservative countries make no issue of it either simply because billions of tourist $$$ flow in and the local boys get to chose and pick their next sex meal. Sounds familiar????
Indeed we are all born nude and there is nothing wrong with the human body, exposure to our children is not a bad thing either. We used to sit in the tub nude and walked around the house that way too at times. However as children grow they do become aware and develop a shyness to this exposure.

Excuse me, but where have you been for the last 5 years or so, ~Anicca~? It has long been legal for women to go
topless in Canada. The Supreme Court changed the public nudity laws, which unfairly discriminated on the basis of
gender! I don't remember when, I know for sure it was after 2000, check the Province's archives online, they had a
big front page article on it. Some woman got herself arrest 28 times, trying to force them to change the sexist laws,
which had different standards of "public nudity", for men & women.
I can still remember bringing home that article to show my husband (we'd been following the court case on this, for
years) & he said to me, "Sweet!! When are you gonna do that!"  Thanks for the compliment, but NOT!! I may
enjoy showing off in the way I dress, but let's not get carried away! (Excuse me, while I find a rock to crawl under
~Blush!)
Personally, for me it's moot, because I burn, I don't tan! But if I did/could tan, I would prefer the tan lines, rather than
people knowing that I sunbath in the nude!
