All I can say is, buddy, what do you EXPECT when you have a bunch of pictures up of you flaunting your body? The people you are attracting are paying head games with you and making fun of you because they realize that you just don't get it!! This isn't the jungle where the male struts around like a peacock, flexing his stuff. This is a civilized relationship site where people learn about each other through words and expressions. When you present yourself this way it screams "shallow". Do you expect women to be doing the same thing - displaying their bodies?? I didn't think so.
Tone it down and focus more on your personality and character. I like how you included some information about your personality type, but it overwhelms the few other small details you've included about yourself.
Also, I think POF frowns on you referring to other sites. Read the rules.

Posted: 5/12/2007 8:34:02 AM | I can see wanting to show your tattoos maybe just show them instead of your whole back and drop the picture of you with your shirt off. Replace it with some other full body but clothed shot. So you can show your body but not that you advertising the meat special of the day. You are a pretty well built guy I can understand wanting to show that off but you said you seem to be attracting girls that you don't want. The picture might be that indicator thats what draws them in.
Also kill this even if people did glimpse this it might turn off a woman who might actually be good for you.

Not everyone's going to know what they mean, or have ever done a Myers-Briggs Personality assessment. If you want to keep that info in your profile, maybe try explaining how it shows in your personality or the things you like to do.

get some different photos. put a shirt on, get some pics taken outside with no hat on looking happy. way too cool looking in photos. maybe younger women like that. yuk. and use spell check. what is estj? don't know.

Posted: 5/12/2007 1:39:29 PM | Ok, now that we've gotten by the pictures (I noticed that you still have the meat market shots posted though), let's move on to your spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall presentation.
In order to present your personality and character in the best possible light you need to correct the mistakes you've made in your About Me. Those errors make you seem less intelligent than you actually are. You can copy and paste your About Me into Word, correct the mistakes, then copy it back into your profile. I'm fairly certain that you will attract women that value intelligence, and someone who makes an effort that way and the ones that are only concerned with looks will give you a pass (which is what you want, right?).
I found that the writing in bold was a little jarring. Was there any reason in particular you haven't left it at a normal font?
Another reviewer commented about the lack of explanation of the personality typing. You could explain that anyone interested in finding out about theirs, and whether or not the two of you are compatible (in theory), can Google Myers Briggs and find all kinds of information. There's also information under Personality Search on POF - some which is pretty funny.
Anyway, I know it was a little shocking to you to get that kind of feedback, but if we were wimpy with our reviews you would disregard them (come on, you think you're invincible :-). Well surprise, you do have something to learn, and us old coots have something to teach you.
By the way, I am not responsible for other women baring their breasts, showing their cleavage, or posing with a come-hither look and flaunting their body. Just because some choose to do it, doesn't mean the rest of us should have to experience a bad attitude by men toward all women-kind. Some may choose to make foolish choices, but the rest of us shouldn't have to pay for it. Food for thought. All the best, Realist | |
