| | meeting people in chilliwack?Page 1 of 2 (1, 2) | should some of us chilliwackers try to organize a get together for pof ers in our community?
dating is always tough, so maybe we should all try to organize a basic meet and greet for all us fishies in the area.
What do you all think. Guess it doesnt have to be just chilliwack, maybe a fraser valley meet?

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/18/2007 9:06:56 PM | | I'm pretty sure you just post about it here and then people can come if they want to. I've never set up an event or anything myself. I've always wanted to since it's hard meeting people in Abbotsford. | |
|
| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/18/2007 9:20:16 PM | I think I can help give you some input into this as I have hosted events....you just decide what you want to do, where you want to do it, and when you want to do it...it can be anything pretty much....then you post it here, email a moderator to have it moved to the events forums and you are now hosting an event
We have had events in the abbotsford area before and they were very successful as there are a lot of people out in the valley that like to go to events but don't want to drive to coquitlam or surrey to do it. Good luck
|
| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/18/2007 9:21:41 PM | | I find too that a lot of the people attending the Abbotsford events are in a different age bracket then me so I don't go because I'm trying to meet people my age. | |

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/19/2007 3:13:51 AM | Just to clarify a previous post... when you fianlly decide on a place and a date you DO post it but NOT here in the BC Forum.
Go to the Event Forum and there is a link at the top of the page for "Create Party Thread" That way the info that will eventually put your event on local members' main page can be added like the date and the postel code.
There are a lot of things you can and cannot do as a Host. They are outlined on this thread: http://forums.plentyoffish.com/datingPosts1156438.aspx

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/21/2007 2:44:15 PM | I like to head down to the lounge at the Rhombus Hotel near 5 corners in downtown Chilliwack.
Every Thursday night there is a jam night, and the quality of the musicianship and singers is excellent. Now that spring is here, and summer is on the way the patio and pond just outside the lounge make a great way to enjoy some laughs and maybe shake a few tail fins!

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/22/2007 8:34:20 PM | I think it's a great idea!
I prefer a place that plays live music. Newlands in Langley is kinda central and is a great dance place with a live band. I'm open to places in Chilliwack, but the venues are quite limited. The Rombus on First Avenue does have live jam nights with a nice patio on a Friday night though.
Having a Pub Night would work too....a game a pool, hang out and relax?
|
| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/22/2007 8:46:17 PM | Host it and we will come
just do it

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/23/2007 3:40:09 PM | I think it's a great idea^^^I would be willing to co host with ya, if you would like... let me know...
can I suggest certain dates? June 2 June 16 June 23 June 30th???????
There's an outdoor patio and a smoking room....
|
| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/23/2007 6:39:42 PM | Keep in mind that many of the other POF events are held on Saturdays, so it may leave people having to choose which event they want to attend.
Other 'meet and greet' neighborhood events are held on Fridays or another weeknight like Tuesdays or Thursdays, probably for this reason.
If it's a Saturday night, I will go when it doesn't conflict with other larger scale events.

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/23/2007 11:14:09 PM | | Thumper, you can have the hosting duties if you wish. I will not be able to devote my entire attention to this, as I have just started a new position at work and am trying to work out childcare scheduals. You ok with this? | |

I don't think we really need an 'event' posting for it, just make it a standing invite for those in the vicinity of the 'wack.
I'm going to hit it up tonight about 7pm, and the more the merrier... I'll try and keep an eye out for other fishies... I mean, what better place!? They already have a pond... now they just need more fish!

| meeting people in chilliwack? Posted: 5/25/2007 9:07:58 PM | I just had surgery last week, but if y'all are going to the Rhombus this coming Thursday, I'd like to try and make it.
