Posted: 5/20/2007 11:06:13 AM | | I see lots of events in the large cities but none near here. I thought why not try to get people from the 4 corners of Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas together. So any interested in trying to do something like this? This would include Joplin, MO to Miami, OK to Pittsburg, Ks to Bella Vista, AR so people wouldn't have to drive to far and maybe do it in Joplin since its kinda central to all those places. I don't have a particular place in mind yet but if I can get enough interest in it I am sure finding a place wouldn't be to hard. Maybe try to do a speed dating thing like Match dot com does. But this wouldn't cost anything just the drinks you buy or food you buy there. If your interested please post so we can get a head count so we might try to find a place to do this at. | |

Posted: 7/18/2007 6:38:50 AM | | If you want something to happen, you have to make it happen, choose something that should be acceptable to a lot of people, maybe picnic beach party in the afternoon and meet at a club and dance later. Set a date and then you have to search and email prospective people about it to get it started. You have to suggest that they need to also search and contact people. Tell them to invite poeple they want to meet there. Once you have the first successful one than you can just say lets do it and it will happen but the first one is a lot of work. I helped get one going in south Florida now they are having lots of them. If it happens at the right time I might be able to join you, since I spend quite a bit of time in the Rogers area on Beaver lake. | |

Posted: 7/25/2007 1:22:58 PM | there is a picnic type thing at shifferdecker park in Joplin in the planning for maybe aug 11. go to the missouri forums and I think its under the events area. there is also one at stockton lake for the weekend around aug 18th planned.....for anyone interested
