What do we, as NBers, find "interesting"?Page 1 of 1
New Brunswick isn't that huge of a place. Cities within New Brunswick aren't that huge, either. As a result, we're a more "familiar" kind of place where we see the same people and do pretty much the same thing, day after day. While we are culturally diverse, we're only REALLY diverse during the university season.

What I would like to know, is what people around these parts find "interesting"? What turns their crank, gets their goose, makes them want to wake up in the morning? Speak from personal experience, your theories about NB at large, whatever.

As for myself, I enjoy "media". Movies, TV, Video games, PnP games, actors/actresses, trivia... I also enjoy getting into a good "Who are we, why are we here, and who cares?" kind of discussions, provided that they don't disintegrate into "my religion is teh awesome and yours is teh suxxorz"... but I still like to learn about such things.

How about YOU? :)

I like movies, going out to eat, trying new places, and just hanging out with my friends. Once in awhile trying to get out and just do something, be it go to Kingswood, or just walk around downtown.

There are alot of things I like. There are soem beautiful sights here in NB so I enjoy driving, walking, hiking in some of those areas. I love to watch movies.. I am a real movie buff, but enjoy renting more than the theatre. I enjoy most things outdoors, camping, canoeing, swimming, motorcycling, tanning. I truly enjoying spending time with friends and family. Bonfires outside and just enjoying great company.

Yeah last weekend I was out to the Fundy Trail and was saying I wish I could have that stretch of road to myself for an hour.....and have some zippy small sports car to play on it with.....Maybe a WRX or that new mazdaspeed5....Now that would be fun.

As for what I enjoy.....Well I have to say that I have become a scenery guy over the last ten yrs or so. I love a nice drive to somewhere interesting. I have rediscovered NB over the last few years. I like the boardwalk up in Bouctouche.....Cape Enrage....St Andrews......Fundy Trail ( still love to shake the foot bridge....as much fun now as 20yrs ago).......the trails of Kouchibouguac.....Grand Falls....All the touristy stuff that we all take for granted....It draws people "from away" for good reasons. It's all good......and don't even get me started on New England......hehehehe.

In the summer, it's Fundy or CaseyCape for the beaches and the trails...love rambling on a beach or in the woods. Another favorite spot is my parent's cottage at Washedemoak Lake in the SJ river valley...nothing like diving into a cool clear lake on a hot day or taking the boat across to gagetown for the afternoon and nosing in all the little craft studios. The rest of the year, I enjoy the saturday morning market, Joe Mocha's cafe on Main St, moncton, browsing around chapters with a soy green tea latte (sounds gross but don't knock it til you try it!) or going cross country skiing or skating at the lake and building a huge bonfire to warm up by...OH...and my NEW favorite: Sasha's Martini & Tapas Bar in Robinson Court...can't beat it for ambiance, great food and drinks and live blues. New Brunswick is not all that different than other places I've lived: what we do and how much we enjoy it is often only dependant on the friends and family that we do it WITH.

FOr me it's travelling allover the province and camping where I land! Fav's are Kouchibouguac...been there twice already this year...bon fires and clam digging on the shore at Baie Ste-Anne....the "dunes" in Neguac or out off Kouch in the Gulf of St Lawrence. Nothing like going sand sliding down hills of pure white sand! Hope to do this on the long weekend!

Then there is always the Saint John River...Woolastook (not what it once was but still) ... Hartland/Florenceville/Bath. This will be a trip for July I think.

Any of the kid stuff is always fun too. This weekend is the Moncton zoo. Would like to get to Shediac just to show her the big "yobster"...maybe on one of the trips northeast I'll stop!

NB has so much to offer! I'm glad I have family spread out all over the place so I can really get to enjoy the stuff most people would just drive by!

The LeLawns at the atlantic nationals car show. It's a ten hour lawn tractor race for charity. I was hoping to bring my Kubota there from Ontario but I have to be back for the 14th for some other charity work here. I think I would have won though.

Great question! Thanks to everyone who replied. I’m currently living in Ontario. I will be moving to NB in July. I’ve be trying to gather as much information on the province and the region we I will relocate to.

hmmm, interesting, beautiful, breathtaking, quiet, serene, NEW RIVER BEACH has it all, if i ever have an unlimited amount of money at my disposal i will own one of those year round cottages/homes overlooking the ocean there. it has to be my most favorite place ever, dont make it down for camping there anywhere even close to often enough.
