IF YOU ARE ATTENDING & IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY LET US KNOW

MEETING PLACE – FROM 11.30 a.m. We will be near the chapel, big building you cannot miss it! Stand with your back to the sea looking at the chapel and we will be the to the right of it on the grass area. (You will be given a mobile number after sign up so you won’t miss us!)

WE WILL ALSO BE LEARNING THE BASIC STEPS OF SALSA AT THIS PICNIC FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO JOIN IN! THIS IS IN PREPARATION FOR THE SUMMER FESTIVAL MAIN EVENT - THE CHILLI FIESTA IN AUGUST!

This is a fun meet up for picnic’s, games and general relaxing. The park itself has many facilities, toilets, café, children’s play areas, a miniature railway, the beach and the Chapel.

This event is NOT restricted to parents with children…. It is a day time FUN meet up with the emphasis on socializing meeting new friends in a relaxed atmosphere… get out of the house and into the fresh air! Bring your friends and family along.

Please bring your outdoor games, balls, Frisbees, camping chairs, picnics, gazebo all your picnic gear, pennies for Ice Cream and your loafing head…..

Introduce yourself on the thread below and let us all know what you will be bringing in the way of ball games etc and if you will be bringing anyone with you, not for numbers just for noseyness really!

Photographs will be taken at this meet and displayed on POF. If you do not want your child in any photographs, then they will not be uploaded, all other images will be censored at member request..

THE COUNTRY PARK FACILITIES

Parking

There are five pay & display car parks.
Pay & Display charges - 1 April - 30 September, Monday to Saturday £1.30 all day, Sundays and Bank Holidays £2 all day
Easy access parking spaces are available for blue badge holders (no parking charge).

Play Areas

The Park has three play areas: one for toddlers, one for older children and one for wheelchair users.

A RADAR key is required for access to the latter. These keys may be borrowed (or bought - £4) from the Park Office.

Toilets

There is a new toilet block, open daily 8am - 5pm, next to the Tearooms with ladies, gents, accessible toilets and nappy changing facilities. There are also toilets in the Heritage Centre.

Miniature Railway
Open throughout the school holidays and weekends, 11am - 4.30pm

Cedar Tearooms

Open daily, April to September. At other times open Sundays only (weather permitting) except Christmas and New Year. The Cedar Tearooms serve light lunches, daily specials (except when the function room is in use) and snacks.

Heritage Centre
The Centre is all that remains of the old military hospital, housing an exhibition depicting the history of the site, a shop, a 150ft viewing tower (temporarily closed) and toilets. Admission
70p for adults, 35p for children and senior citizens

TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS

By Road
Follow the brown tourist signs from junction 8 off the M27 or A27.

By Train
By train to Netley station on the main Southampton to Portsmouth line. The back entrance to the park is a 5-10 minute walk from the station. Follow the signs outside the station carpark

By Bus
Bus no 16 goes to Netley Village from Southampton. From the village, follow the brown tourist road signs into the park via the main entrance along the coast road. For more details, please contact First Bus tel 023 8022 4854.

By Foot
Pedestrian access points, other than those described above, are available via the Solent Way and the Hamble Rail Trail
