Posted: 5/30/2007 7:54:12 PM | | So I have recently decided that I want a tongue ring, and I made the appointment, but after speaking with a male friend of mine, he says there disgusting and he hates them on girls. | Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 8:01:39 PM | Got one to stop smoking (you really can't smoke with one...it's really nasty).
In my case, it didn't hurt, it was done professionally and they took almost 15 minutes before the piercering to analyze the veins in the tongue, the fact I had to have it farther back (known as a corporate piercing, so I can wear a tie and look white and Republican and still be a freak).
Immediate 3-4 hours soaking in crushed ice, followed by 2 weeks of rinsing with biotene (do not use Listerine).
Tongue never swelled. Quit smoking too.
The tongue is a different beast, when I had to take mine out (even with the corporate piercing, you could see it and I ran out of the clear plastic ones, which you could still see), my piercing closed up completely in 7 days.
I'm going to get it re-done, but I have to go back to where I had it done, because I know they know WTF they are doing.
So I had it and yes the GF loved it...I won't get into the details. She decided to get hers done...I LOVED it.
And yes...Ebay does sell vibrating tongue rings... .
...Sigh...
Cheers! | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 8:05:02 PM | | Some of the kids my daughter knows are now removing their piercings! They are finding that they are not getting positive attention for them at all - especially in the work place!! Indeed relationships are more difficult to make with people who do not like them! | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 8:10:44 PM | | i have one but i dont see where it makes much of a difference and let me tell you about the bad parts of having one they can chip your teeth and ive had mine so long that now when im not wearing it i talk with a slight lisp anyhow when it comes down to it if you really want one why should it matter what anyone thinks its your body | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 9:09:14 PM | | I don't find piercings attractive at all, especially around the face and mouth areas. It's just not pleasent to look at, IMO. | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 10:20:52 PM | Depends on if your getting it because you want it or because someone else wants you to get it. If you want it it shouldn't matter.
In my humble opinion I love them on women. I think they are hot as hell. As long as your not constantly playing with it it shouldn't chip your teeth. Functionally a woman dosen't need it placed as far forward as men generally do anyway.
A rotting tongue, what are you talking about?
If you want to get more information about piercings you should search BME.

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 10:22:39 PM | | yay... if you have been w/ a guy w/ one, its great. I used to have mine pierced as well and he really enjoyed it as well. I think it's all in how you use it ;P | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/30/2007 11:19:10 PM | I've never been with a guy that had one but wouldn't mind it at all. I have mine pierced and have definitely had no complaints in the oral dept... mind you I didn't have complaints before the piercing either... so I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not. Out of the piercings I have, the one I wouldn't ever get rid of is my tongue ring.
Anyway OP you should do it if you want to for you... not for anyone else. I certainly didn't get mine for the sake of enhancing my oral talents on guys. I got it cause I wanted it. I got a really wickedly bad cold right after I got pierced though and was SO sick... I took it out after about 4 days with this cold for about 5 minutes and realized that I wasn't about to give up on something I paid a lot of money to get so back in it went!
Initially it's a bit awkward as the barbell has to be fairly long to compensate for swelling... but once you can get a barbell in that fits properly, it's a lot better. Just be careful eating for the first while. I remember trying to eat a bagel before my barbell was downsized and chomping down on it lol... not fun! If you do it, lots of crushed ice to keep the swelling down and follow the piecer's instructions for after care. Chamomile tea is another good thing as it is a natual anti-inflammitory. It's one of the fastest healing piercings you can get. For that matter, if you take it out, it'll close over within a couple of days as well.
As I said before, if you wanna do it, then do it. People will all have their opinions on it and that's fine. Question is, do you want it? If so why? And... If you got it and people made negative comments on it... do you care? You can always take it out if you decide it's not your thing. It's your tongue dude... do what you want with it for your own reasons. Seriously... if you don't make a big issue out of it... then no one else has a reason to either. I've had mine so long I don't notice it anymore... except when I had to take it out for a few hours for surgery... then I felt like something was REALLY missing! lol

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/31/2007 5:01:17 AM | i have to say that my tongue piercing was my favourite one( have had 13). i loved it and wish i still had it. i was gutted when i had to remove it. felt weird not having it in! i believe that now they cant use the spray that i had to numb it so i cant comment on if it will hurt or not...but it would be worth it!!! if u want to get it done then do it. at the end of the day, if u dont like it then u can remove it | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/31/2007 6:56:16 AM | have had mine for 8 years now-and still love it! It's a very personal decision-what some guy thinks of it shouldn't be your concern. Believe me, there are guys out there who won't shun you because of it!If it's your thing and what you want to do, go for it-just listen to your piercer and take care of it properly. | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 5/31/2007 7:33:35 AM | | yes agree go for it, never had a women with a tounge ring go down on me but would love to find out how it feels. | |

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 4:29:52 PM | | They are disgusting. It would be a dealbreaker for me if a guy had one. Makes me think of lisping and infection. No way I could kiss that. | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:02:21 PM | I've never had any complaints..though one guy I was with said it burned when I gave him head with a plastic barbell in, but he loved it when I'd switched back to steel barbells.
Has your guy friend ever received head from a girl with a pierced tongue? Or is his opinion just based off of thinking that the piercing itself is disgusting? Either way, you shouldn't let one person's opinion influence your choice one way or the other.
Its your body...poke holes in it if you want to.

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:07:47 PM | OMG, they look so HOT on girls!!! I prefer them to tattoos.......ewwwwwwwww, can't stand the sight of a florescently coloured ass!!! LOL
Tounge rings on dudes - NAY!!!!!

| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:24:25 PM | | Most women I see with tongue rings are constantly playing with it and look stupid doing it. It's like a 4 year old who can't keep his tongue in his mouth. You know those kids... with the slobber running down their chin and the perpetual rash. Ok so a grown woman has a bit more control but the persistent rubbing of the tongue ring against her teeth is not sexy. | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:35:44 PM | The guys I've been with love it...took me a while to figure out how to make the best use of it but I got it all figured out and had fun doing it. You don't have to keep the metal one in forever you can get them made of dental acrilic now...much easier on the teeth. Mine healed up nicely but I had a bad case of drymouth for about 2 months...probably just until my body got used to having something in my mouth 24/7 | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:38:00 PM | Well its really up to you to do what makes you the happiest.
Just be careful if he has one that you don't get stuck together. LOL
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:38:15 PM | nay...!
you may get a compliment or two from your friends at age 18 but after a few years, you'll find that it just looks trashy and out of style.
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/6/2007 5:42:23 PM | Nayyyyyyy.... Almost sounds like a billy goat. ::grins, then says it again for kicks:: Naaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy
I think they are disgusting. Not to mention you gotta open yourself up for all kinds of diseases and things. But then, I don't like any mouth piercings of any kind. It just doesn't seem right. Just looks tacky to me. However, when I see a woman with one, I zip the lip. Then smile and pretend I didn't notice.
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/24/2007 9:48:52 AM | I have never felt any difference in oral pleasure from a woman who had a tongue ring any way its all on how she gives oral. | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/24/2007 11:23:55 AM | I've had a corporate tongue piercing for six years now, and no plans to remove it. I like having it, and have never had any complaints with it. The only time people even notice it is if I have a big ole belly laugh...and usually they're quite shocked to know I've got one | |
|
| Tongue Rings: yay or nay? Posted: 6/24/2007 12:54:34 PM | Have been told the only thing/positive concerning pierced tongues, are for oral sex, mostly they get in the way for everything else. They impede talking/speaking clearly and eating. Impedes talking, hhhmmm, your female, hell yea, get pierced. | |
