| What does "just dating" supposed to mean anyways?
Posted: 5/31/2007 6:19:26 AM | | I saw this guy that I've been interested in recently with a girl the other day. I heard it was his girlfriend, and was shocked really. When I said something to him about it like "...now that you have a girlfriend" he turned really red and couldnt look me in the eye and then he mumbled "ehh...just dating." Is his definition and my definition of dating different? Or do you think he's telling me he doesn't want me reading too much into it since I've got feelings for him and he supposedly did once too. It could just be sex, he's looking for long term, but she didnt look like the long term type...actually she looked sort of trashy. But I don't want to misjudge her seeing as I don't know her. I'm just curious what you all would think about this. Thanks | |

It is not because you are interested in him and met once or twice
that he is automatically your boyfriend. Was the other girl really
her girlfriend? -- he might have just gone out once or twice. This is something
to double check.
He might still be meeting people and getting to know people.
Also, he could have felt uncomfortable because you confronted him but maybe
there is really nothing going on with the other girl?
I could be either good or bad. It depends on how serious he is with the other
girl and on how serious he was with you. | |

I looked at your profile, it says you're not looking for anything right now and also looking for friends. Maybe that sends this guy mixed messages when you saw him with her and said that to him?
Your profile says one thing, but I think perhaps you want to date him?
If you are looking for long term or dating, maybe you should put it on your profile instead of "friends".

Posted: 5/31/2007 6:42:16 AM | I'm dating; I like to go out on dates and I'm not looking for anything serious,at least not right now. I like to get out when I have some spare time. I donot have the the time for a relationship. Some people call it serial dating,,who cares what they call it, I'm meeting people and having fun...while they are saying no and sitting at home behind their PC...
If I want to go for a bike ride or a walk I will go to my fav's list and ask someone out. There have been a few women that have seen me out with other ladies,,they know I'm just dating so its never been a big deal...is this not a dating site | |

You're a girlfriend when it's implied that you will be going out together every week, whether you make plans or not, and he's not seeing, or pursuing, anyone else. You're a girlfriend when you get to leave any of your stuff, in plain view, at his place, and find that it hasn't been 'put away' when you come back for the next visit. | |

It means you are still keeping your options open and still looking for the "right" one for you.
Dating to me means opening yourself up to meet as many people as you can without getting attached to the outcome - without taking anything personally and seriously. It means you are still searching... and who knows, you might find that one thing you are seeking for.
When you find it, and it's mutual, it might move on to the next stage.

Dating is going out when you have the time, might be with the same person or someone different, and what one person may like with me, another might not.
Enjoy the moment, the activity, adventure, outdoors, the conversation, meal, theater or long walk...A date can be anything and you're both having fun. | |

I went out with this girl... we kissed blah blah blah she said she wanted to be my girlfriend. Pretty straitforward right? oh well it was cool i didnt freak out i kinda liked her so i said yah sure. Thing is every time i ask her to go out shes realy busy. So i havent seen her in 2 weeks. And i started dating since shes obviously not my girlfriend, we went out once...i dont know if shes playing hard to get or not...frankly i dont care im not looking for games just the right one to go steady with you know.
So i bet thats what your " boy " is doing. Untill he knows anything is serious hes gonna keep dating and keep his options open. Just try to see him more, normally u would play it cool but if hes seeing other women u gotta charge forth a bit. Do some work guys cant always chase the woman. Sure 99% of the time they do. You fall in the 1%, if you like the guy go for him and make him realise u wanna be together and not just casually dating. Dont wait for him to " discard " them all and go for you only. Too many women think they are way too special and the guy should always do this and that and make the move and sweep them off their feet.
Thats how so many chances of being inlove get ruined. Do the work for a change, sweep him off his feet. Leave him breathless, show him your special and there is no one like you and that he is a fool if he passes you up. | |

Posted: 5/31/2007 11:16:36 AM | | IMO, one should ever assume they are in an exclusive or committed relationship simply because they’ve gone out with a guy a few times; had sex with him; and now store their feminine hygiene products under his sink. This is not to say that mutual commitment isn’t desired after these things occur, it just means that until both parties openly discuss and communicate their relationship intentions, and have come to a mutual understanding and agreement regarding their commitment to one another, they are “just dating”. Assuming anything else is building a faux relationship in your head that is based upon nothing more than wishful thinking, conjecture and presumptions. If this happens and you’re lucky, you both assume the same thing; if not, then someone is definitely going to end up getting hurt. | |

So does mean that I am his girl? We don't make plans at all. We see each other every weekend though and he sleeps over @ my place every saturday night...does that mean anything?
Also....Is it too early to tell the person that you are dating that you want to be thier girl after a month? and how should i approach him since I hate rejections of any kind? | |
